As someone with a spinal cord injury and numb hands -- This game has become almost unplayable

It happens all the time, especially in longstanding game series it's pretty common for fans to love the previous installment and hate the new one(s). Anyway, they spend a few weeks swearing into a bucket, then just find something else to play, or don't and take up gardening or something. Haven't heard of a case yet where any of them actually died of boredom.
Mind you, their reason is just preference, you have a much stronger one.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I am on heavy painkillers 24/7. Sitting up for long is an issue and most of my days I stay in bed. I would never expect a game to adjust to someone in my situation. I'll play as long as my health allow me to but me getting mad over a game evolving that shuts me out would just be silly. I'll just move over to a game that suits me better at that point. Yes it would suck a bit, but the situation already sucks and most real life mechanics don't adapt to my situation so why would one of the most complex ARPGs do so? Be realistic. It helps :)

Look, I feel you and I understand your frustration. It sucks that you are in this position.

But

PoE is not a "right". It is a game that you as the player and consumer can choose to engage with or not. It does not have to cater to every possible player type. Physical, mental, and other differences exist but it is not the developer's job to cater to the lowest common denominator (unless of course, that is their goal). I don't want games that autoplay themselves, involve 2 buttons max, etc.

Think about playing a musical instrument. A physical limitation can determine which, if any, music instruments you can functionally play. Should every musical instrument in the world cater to that one person that might be unable to play at a certain speed or a certain way? No, that's ludicrous. In certain situations, that limitation can be overcome, but that is ALWAYS on the side of the player/performer, and NOT the instrument itself.

You choose to play the game, period. There are plenty of other games. You may love this one to death, but if you personally cannot physically play the game that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the game itself. It means it's time to move on.

I know this is a very blunt and in-your-face post, but I really feel like we as players (and even society as a whole) have forgotten the difference between "choice" and "right"

What the OP wrote is simply expressing what they, as a consumer, want from the product. That's it. They never mention a "right".
The section of the forum is called "Feedback and Suggestions". Well, they're giving feedback and suggestions to GGG as well as giving reasons.

Also that the game suited me JUST FINE until right now, thats the biggest thing people are glossing over.... I got around my limitations by being good at farming currency.

But every league is getting harder and harder to achieve the same thing I just did 3 months ago

As a person who finds enjoyment from the completion of the game, taking that from me is far beyond unacceptable.
This has nothing to do with a "right", it has to do with a debilitating change that shouldnt have EVER been made.

The game suited me just fine for years -- Now like a light switch -- Cannot do content.

You should certainly consider a different setup.

Taking medication to maintain performance in a game is a slippery slope. Speaking from experience. You have a much higher risk of tolerance issues which will put you through even more hell.

I quit playing a game because my health comes first. My issue is anxiety based which cannot be fixed by changing my setup. Try a cordless keyboard + mouse. Get a big wall mount arm for your monitor. Something so you can chill in a good position. That's all I can really say.

My back is scuffed too but it's the opposite. I can't stand for more than about 40min.

Part of what really pisses me off is I used POE to help strengthen my back after my injury. I can now sit for a couple hours without pain, when I first startyed trying to sit I had about 30-45 minutes before my body was trembling in pain and exhaustion. Had to go lay down for HOURS to recover lol.

I tried games because watching something non-interactive just made me focus on the pain. Playing a game allowed me to forget about the pain. Although my hands will forever be numb and clumsy

After about 9 months my sitting had improved from about 30-45m up to about 1h 15m or so. Today, after years of playing and strengthening the remaining muscles in my core (muscle weakness is a bitch) I can play a solid 2h. I can go for 3-4h but at that point i'll be paying for it later no matter what.

And all of it felt manageable until this league. The massive direct and indirect currency nerfs have absolutely crushed me this league as well. I guess most people have fun saving FOR the gear? I have fun HAVING the gear.

Because once I have the gear I can run all content from triple beyond mapping to boss rushing or, in the past, maven farming.
Well accept it. It won't change per GGG. The goal of this game isn't for everyone to complete all the content. Far from it. GGG has publicly stated the goal of the game is only for the top few percent of players to get to all the content. They don't WANT a game that everyone can complete precisely because they feel there's too many of those out there already. And that's all of the people WITHOUT disabilities.

You have a point, however in my case, a life comprised of mostly laying in bed gets reaaaallly boring.

It just seems a little unfair in a non-competative game, that most find enjoyment by keeping others from playing.

Most of the extremely limited number of people who enjoy the changes really can't stop talking about how it makes them feel good to keep others out.

Just like the whole "Necro tears" meme -- This community really seems to enjoy keeping content scarce and gatekeeping most people out of the game. Yet I think ashes of the stars and Omni should be on the skill tree.

Uber content is for gatekeeping, I can accept never being able to do uber maven, but I cannot accept lowering the ceiling every single league. More and more people can't play the game anymore. 5ex items are 20 div..

I really can't understand how much worse they expect to make the game feel.... Literally nobody wants this, not even the streamers...
I don't even have any health issues and this game is becoming unplayable....

We can't solve problems we can't talk about...
