allocated loot and extreme trading made it quite differ from the classical diablos, everything comes with a price.
Its the difference between "being forced to hand out enough crap for 6players" and "carefully giving each one what he deserves". I have no interest in a game of itemjuggling for chaosorbs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drDs-Y5DNH8
Show me the party then, there is mostly one or two and its mostly someone starting new char or Ossuary which is useless since you reach 80+. This game is just solo or pay someone to play with him and its like pay divine orb for 1.5 lvl, its ridiculous, trade items is okay, but this is little bit too much in my opinion. You probably dont remember Diablo 2 Baal runs, but trust me, if you would, you would be missing this same as me. Players could lvl their chars to lvl 100 with full random parties and this party was available 24/7, it took a lot of time to lvl above 90, but it was fun and there were bunch of other players too, you could see their builds, you could even see their items like armour and stuff which they had on them if you used C3PO, PoE is just lonely, you can certainly learn how it is to be rich with no friends in this game.
You wouldn't expect to get in somebody's ubers in Diablo 2 for free. In PoE, the core gameplay is like that as a way to structure the game's rewards.
You are arguin Uber runs, Im talking about Baal XP runs in case you missed it. Yeah they were MF (Magic Find) runs which you did solo or with friends to get all loot from it and then there were XP runs which were coop with randoms which this game is absolutelly missing, PoE got everything from Diablo, but they forgot probably about the best thing Diablo had to offer. I dont understand why people are even arguing this... Last edited by AwhooThunder#0348 on Sep 18, 2022, 3:39:16 PM

I'm comparing the pay-to-play stuff to Ubers because that's what they're comparable to. Path of Exile explicitly focuses most of its design decisions on what is "post-game content" in Diablo 2. That focus is ultimately most of the reason PoE players like it better, because that's just how this genre works.
The campaign isn't the game. It's really not in D2 either, it's just that they don't have as much post-campaign stuff to do, so they have you play through it three times. Nobody does Docks or Ossuary runs anymore because you're not stuck in that phase of character growth for nearly as long as you are in D2. If you like that pace, there's already a game for you. It's a really good one too, I used to play it alot. Furthermore, the Trade Manifesto delenda est.
Bone Mommy did nothing wrong. I want to join the Syndicate. |
