Good rares just never drop - is there any plans to revamp rare drops?

But bro if rares drop already good how can we engage with the epic new crafting system with all its depth and complexity of a slot machine?

Hot tip: ID veiled and fractured rares and call it good. Ex; I've ID'd fractured 30MS boots, T1 spell suppress boots, T1 Int Ring, T1 Dex gloves this league as an example and I'm not really paying attention. Once you have this, scour + essence or even veiled chaos is a nice move.

Alternatively, I've ex slammed a few 10-15c 3 mod jewels turning them into >1 div jewels.

Rares drop on the floor, but they need some massaging from you, not just ID and equip, typically.

I found these on the floor doing Betrayal only a few days into the league;

The eva% is slammed on. Not ideal, but not the worst.

I bought this chest for 10c or so, presumably dropped on the ground for someone else, then annul'd a dex roll and crafted on suppress.

Back in D2 it was all about the exciting drops, i remember the feeling of finding a ''unique'' un-id ring on the ground... could it be the precious stone of jordan or perhaps one of those rare high end unique rings?

Some of these modern ARPGs suddenly became less of a loot hunt and more of a crafting simulator and grinding fragments and small pieces. The whole idea of an ARPG that made it exciting to me was going out in the world slaying monsters and looting them for precious epic treasures.

I truly hope PoE2 will rethink the whole crafting centric gameplay and put emphasize on the classic loot hunt, at some point in PoEs history this was much more of a thing.

If PoE2 does not and D4 does this fairly good it could be a decisive point in favor of D4.
dont expect any improvement in rare, that s just a lie. CW said 1 he wants the game to be heavily focused on trade 2 they were supposedly thinking of a way to improve rare droppings. But picking up rare is pushing the game in the ssf direction and away from the trade vision. it s just some pr stuff. And btw this patch has pushed even farther the game in the trade direction. Just look at ssf hc streamers, some of the best players, lot of them have stopped or moved to trade. So you re not getting good rares anytime soon. Max you can get is CW telling you they re working on it ;)

D4 won't have an economy so it won't have the longevity imo.

If Diablo Immor(t)al is a taste of what D4 is going to be, it will have a huge economy. A billion dollar economy (real money) and all just to buy gems.
They do drop, you just have to look for them, not something people seem to be willing to do. I mean how can you find a good rare when your goal is to run through the map as fast as possible?

Also, the drop rate of good loot is intentionally on low because Chris has an obsession with trade. You can't just hand out the good stuff and have trade at the same time; it's not gonna keep anyone playing if you can get your shit fast.

Trade is the reason why the game often feels unrewarding, not AN, not league mechanics, but trade; and people's mentalities that if it's not "profitable" it's not worth the effort.
i only pick rare amulets and sceptres for the past 2 weeks its kinda pointless to pick them past 1 week and just farm currency with something specific for example i farm currency just spamming feared
Sorry, the game is balanced around trade league. Can't have too many people finding their own items or it hurts longevity or some BS.

In seriousness I agree. While I have had a few good drops, I wish they were more consistently better so I could play more builds without spreading myself too thin.

I don't think pay to win works in a north american market, at least for the older generation gamers. Gen Z, I dunno what they're willing to spend on, but I know i have a hard time spending real world cash on virtual goods. Buying an actual game/software is one thing, having to spend beyond that (aside from maybe a subscription type service) just feels wrong to me.

Poe, being F2P, means I'm more open to the microtransactional focus, like a pay for what you want scenario.
Yep, totally over league play.
