Good rares just never drop - is there any plans to revamp rare drops?

So I am playing SSF for the first time more seriously, and ofc during early progression (white-yellow maps) I am picking and ID'ing A LOT OF rares (sometimes up to 4 or even 5 full inventories/map), since I am doing chaos recipe, I am picking all slots. 1 chaos recipe takes 10 rares, and at one moment I had 120chaoses (minusing the ~30 pure C drops, I did ~90 chaos recipes, which is ~900 ID'ed rares)

Sadly, I only found very few "medium decency" rares, which I put into stash "for the future" as a back-up gear. These are the few items I deemed worthy keeping, but in general they are all very bad. They mostly have high life/ress or smth. This is what I got from ~900 IDs:

None of my better equiped items are drops, all of them was made either with fossil/harvest reroll or mostly essence. A single or two essences results in a much better item than I could ever get from a drop.

GGG, you need to work on rare items quality, just reduce the drop rate by x100, but when a rare drop - it is smart loot drop.
Not trash like this:

PoE's largest flaw, in my mind; the quality of dropped rares.

But in a game where crafting (still) is VERY powerful - and people demand even more deterministic crafting, bad drops is probably what we should expect. Personally, I wish that "crafting" should be restricted to altering a rare item, instead of crafting/gambling from white items/bases. But that's not the game we have, and we have a complete currency system designed around crafting.

But they HAVE been working on reducing the amount of crap dropping (item culling). Now, all that remains is the so-called "Loot 2.0" the community has spoken of, which some players believes is already here, while other think it's posponed until PoE 2.

Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

The main problems I've seen from ID'ing stuff was:
- very low tiers of mods shouldn't appear on high level dropped rares (smth like +7 life instantly bricks an item)
- a lot of non-synergistic mods appear on items/item bases.

I would rather get 1 rare every 5 maps, but at least that rare has higher tier mods, and doesn't spawn with ressistances on a weapon (this one bothers me the most - why there are ressistances on the weapons?).

I don't mind being showered in blues, but rares are just waste of time. Good thing I never ID them in trade leagues, and just take 2c recipe early on.

But for you to be able to feel lucky/good or care about a rare drop, most of them have to be bad. If high level maps only dropped items with high tier affixes AS WELL as only synnergistic mods, 'most' items would be VERY good.

Don't get me wrong here, I do also believe that rare items need to improve, but we also have to be a little bit realistic here.

My idea, which I have shared before, would be a semi-deterministic farming system, giving certain buffs to certain maps or bosses. One example could be a new currency that enchants maps with "Rare and Magic items in area drop identified with -1 tier to all affixes" (or +1 to tiers, depends on how you look at it)

Another way of doing this, could be that certain bosses have different bonuses to drops. Physical oriented bosses could have a higher chance of dropping items with physical themed affixes and so on.

A third option, could be to introduce "Item Quality" alongside Item Rarity and Item Quantity. While IIR affects rarity and IIQ affect quantity, Increased Item Quality would affect the affixes on the items, with a higher chance of higher tiers.

Ok, I just saw that I asked YOU to be realistic, but I went on a VERY unrealistic rampage here. Ah, well, can't be bothered to alter the post.

I had to switch to trade this league as I find ssf to be unplayable after the nerfs to loot and harvest

I can’t confirm that. Having a blast playing SSF this league.
You win some you lose some. There are good rares to be bought. I doubt all of them were crafted. This means that some people simply got lucky.
Yea PoE's main problem with rares are there are essentially 10 mods on them.

Base

Sockets: Number Links Colors
Affixes: 3 Prefixes, 3 suffixes

That's a whole lot and the sockets one needs to be perfect to be usable and the affixes are pretty varied and awkward.

Good rares happen rarely, good rares you can pick up and use without spending more currency than it would take to buy someone else's are extremally rare because of sockets and resistances.
I just learned that you can easily off-color every piece of gear, apart from the 6-link ones, via jewelry orbs. Pretty cool actually. Before, I used the chromatic craft, what a waste of resources, haha
Good rares do drop - the issue is that for any worthwhile rare you ID you will also have ID'd so much junk that the time invested is better spent on more maps and more kills.

I've found plenty of good and even some great rares over the years but I also know it would have been more profitable to ignore them completely when contemplating the time spent only to find junk and vendor trash.
Yep, totally over league play.
