Who is this elusive "Average player"?
|
The push is to make you think the average player LOVES the new changes.
No idea why that is because as an average casual player the game is pretty horrible to play now. The amount of crap rare gear that drops now is nothing like I've seen before. It's insane. When an AN mob drops a ton of rare gear that I have to look through it becomes boring as all hell. |

" Really. The person smack in the middle of the range of involvement in this game is someone who treats it as 50-75% of a full time job. I don't think so mate. |
|
" Exactly, and this is why they needed to hide the changes they are making because they know we're all spoiled brats who aren't going to like doing the same thing over and over again for 10 years unless we got less of a reason to do it. P.S. Please nerf loot and buff Archnemesis, let's just shred this playerbase onece and for all. GGG thanks <3 /s Last edited by Soulsucka#5124 on Aug 27, 2022, 5:23:16 PM

" In my book there are 3 tiers of player: 1. Casual. 1-4 hours 2. Average 4-6 can be per day, or let's say 6 hours today, 2 hours tomorrow, and 4 hours the day after. 3. Invested (I hate the word hardcore) over 6 hours per day Last edited by lupasvasile#5385 on Aug 27, 2022, 5:59:44 PM

8 hours PER WEEK is the generally accepted metric for an average gamer.
PoE as stated earlier something ridiculous like 80% of players per league do not make it to red maps. That means the average poe player is not end game playing or farming. |

" "your book" doesnt reflect anything other than your feelings. you are way overestimating the average playtime. |

I love the replies. But yea, it is a genuine question. In my group of friends we are quite the diverse bunch. Some have families and cant play a lot and tend to not even farm high tier reds in leagues. Othes hit T16 do a bit of alch and go and neve do bosses, and a few of us really go at certain league mechanics. We go HARD at them.
And so far, only the alch and go players are happy over the league. And don't misunderstand, even the few of us who go hard at a mechanic, don't fall into the giga juiced category. One guy religiously loves legion and heist, he is pretty happy atm, then we have others who enjoyed harvest or breach, well i can say WE are not that happy in this case. Those mechanics just feel like i wasted the chaos on the scarab. I just have no idea why even bring up AVERAGE tho. I thought PoE was so great because it nearly always offered players a logical next step into what to do, untill you actually hit the point where you are running 4 winged scarab T16 maps with 100% delirium full sextants giga mega ultra atlas tree or whatever. |

I'll tell you what the average player is *not* :
-The average player is NOT a streamer playing in a group focused to min-max currency accumulation. -The average player is NOT a youtuber throwing a hissy fit when things don't go the way of his past guides anymore. -The average player is definitely *NOT* a forum dweller who spends twice as much time whining here or on reddit than he does in game. Please. No more labyrinth.

Today I saw someone call himself a casual, completing nearly the whole game (all favorite slots etc...). Yeah definitions of words are now all just interpretations, but everyone takes its own interpretation as the only definition. Hard to communicate in this state of egocentric times, no?

I feel like im below average compared to the other people and guild mates I know.
I usually take some time to fill out my atlas. It takes usually roughly 4 days to do that (not this league because it felt so boring and I quit). I rush a money making league mechanic like expedition while doing it because im super broke compared to all the guys in my guild that sell high tier rares on day 1 to get rich or have other strategies that only work in the first two days. After that I farm a bit to get some high ticket item and/or a well rounded build in the next two weeks. When that is done I usually just do something mind numbing but effective like nem3 (back than) or sim farming til I get at least a mirror worth in currency. Than I quit and give it all to other people. Thats my normal league "routine". Compared to other people I know im seriously pretty much a casual. |
