hope toxic streamers/Influencer stop playing POE. I´m with GGG

So I've been playing actively with breaks since the beta and have seen many seasons and patches. Of course there were seasons where sometimes more sometimes fewer builds were playable. I really don't like the current change and wish there were more playable builds back

I noticed that today's gaming scene is just toxic. there have been problems since 1-2 leagues and every streamer has to make videos how bad poe is and they want to stop. 3 months ago videos and streams were made with the titles "how to make 100 ex per hour" "why is poe so easy and tons of loot" and now there are 1 week of problems and this behavior right away.

it has become like a plague. and almost like in other mmos, where streamers badmouth everything because THEY THEMSELVES find it bad and then streamers are thought to speak for the entire community. it was exactly day 2 of the season and there were streams of how bad ggg is and full of insults for not having mageblood and 100 ex equip together on day 2. the funny thing is that everyone turned 95+ and reached the endgame and defeated bosses.

so please stay away or keep calm why do you have to aggro it so much? I also opened a post and complained that I would like more builds etc. but what is happening right now is more hate speech than opinion



i dont like the actual league but i like GGG and support GGG becauze 1 not so good season from all these years is not the end of the world. and GGG respond very quickly and also has an awesome support.

I dont think you know what "hate speech" means.

Stop consuming content you dont like. Just play and dont worry about what the streamers are doing.

What about the ones who have been banned for cheating in POE on other accounts, but now have a fairly strong YT and Twitch following by people who have no idea of their previous shenanigans? What gets me is the arrogance to be banned in a game, then to think you deserve to represent the game in some way. I know of at least one who has upwards of 20k followers and rising. Also others who have been associated with cheaters in their "team". I know this firsthand from a player who passed through our party during a certain race, then bragged about their Demis while they and their group pushed others out of Demis placings, which became clear after their ban.

(Edit: To be clear the known cheating I'm referencing was years ago, but the popularity of the player/s in question is current. I wouldn't be as bothered if they were open about it, but the obnoxiousness to represent and make content for a game that you cheated in, taking rewards from others, while being praised by those naive to it, bothers me.)

I think there is a lot of valid criticism of what GGG did this patch, and how they did it. But there's clearly also a lot of toxicity.

I personally believe that the recent hyperbolic negativity has hurt the game at least as much as any loot nerf or Archnemesis effects. It's certainly not helping.

What I know is that I am playing pretty much the same way that I normally do, and am having pretty much as much fun and success as I normally do. I friggin' hate the lightning mirages. But I'm not so full of myself as to demand they get removed from the game and toss around juvenile slurs and proclaim the game broken.

Just keep tabs on them. They'll all be back next league trying to stay relevant. Don't be a statistic, unfollow and unsubscribe.

"Content creators", or more aptly named "influencers", are a blight on gaming.

I've unfollowed a ton of guys, but mainly Ruetoo and Kobeblackmamba stand out. Both play the game as if their lives depend on it and both have not only been shitting on it non-stop, they also push fake toxic narratives and push their chat/followers to brigade on other streamers or Reddit.

Criticism is fine, it's warranted this league, but creating toxicity and drama around lies/deliberately twisted narratives crosses the Rubicon for me.

Then there are guys like Tuna, Palsteron, Grimro, Steelmage, Zizaran, Manni, Ventrua, etc. who have given correct, level-headed feedback and moved on. They're not creating a video every day how GGG lied to us all, how the game is definitively ruined, how GGG intentionally destroyed the game or push narratives on stream how PoE is a tier below Diablo Immortal like Rue is pushing on the daily.

On top of that, once you find out how some of them actually RMT or are banned on other accounts for RMTing you really realize how you shouldn't give these people your clicks and views.

yes, these toxicity needs to be kept in check. NOW.
it's doing nothing but just damaging the game, scaring people away.
at least on this forum & reddit there are moderators, I really wouldn't mind if they lay down some heavy handed controls.
everything that need to be said, already been said, no reason to keep repeating it. I suppose the only reason people keep making video on negative subjects / opinions is because, well, negativity sells.

but then again we can do nothing about Youtube & Twitch, which is where the toxicity spread like wild fire, scaring potential player away.

and then people complain "omg no one selling what I need / no one to trade with!!"
well, you guys are scaring people away.
