Why is arch nemesis so important?

What makes arch nemesis so important? i mean the amount of time, energy and money spent on trying to make it work is through the roof. There has to be some specific reason why this particular league mechanic is worth it, weve had league mechanics removed before (harvest ;) so i dont see why this one deserves or is worth it. Especially with the community feedback that has been negative since arch nemesis league. is it stubborness?, pride?, mallice?. ive really tried to see the reasoning but i just cant. Please enlighten me.

It fits in with the harder gameplay that Chris (and maybe other lead devs? unsure) seem to so desperately want.
Concurrent players this league was in line with previous leagues, and we all knew archnemesis would be here, so perhaps it is not as much a deterrent as you think? |

Chris or some other lead dev wants POE to be the "dark souls" of ARPGs. Maybe one of them is a massive FromSoftware fan or just watches a lot of streams of Dark Souls and Elden Ring. It's the only thing I can think of as in those games there are so many mobs that can kill you even in random areas. |

I find the new level of loot customization through archnem combinations quite interesting and worth keeping. Other than that, I think it took them a lot of work revamping the years of different development to standardize everything, convert and revamp every mob modifier and their distribution through all content. Of course they will not throw that overboard.

" i think it is like something you doing, but you didnt look enough. mosters damage is already too high. the game atm is just like that ... developers are out of touch, they realy dont know what is rpg. they have no idea, totaly, what is toughness. they just keep adding useless itens to game. maybe in last 10 years, they just added 1 or maybe 2 good uniques to game. bad conception of def stats. very low level of criativity. very bad game mechanics, all game playing is resumed in 1 hit killing. these guys dont realy have any idea what is game playing. they turned the game into power creep and "meta build", and thats too bad also. arch nemises mechanics is lack of criativity, there is no difficulty since you kill players with 1 single hit. they simply just keep failing us. Sunk cost fallacy. They spent the time and resources to develop these mods specifically to replace the existing mods. They don't care if we like them or not at this point. This is their trash baby, and they are going to keep coddling it and investing their resources into it until it works or nobody is left to complain.

Why is it important?
Because rare monsters have been a pushover for years. Without fully juicing your maps, there is NO resistance in them. Rares NEEDED to be updated. Archnemesis isn't a bad idea per se, but with so many other things when it comes to GGG, their implementation of Archnemesis is way over the top and way to intrusive in the early and mid game. Regarding removing Archnemesis... I think they feel that if they were to remove it while they fine tune it, players would react no matter what when they eventually bring them back. They want us to test them in "real time", and they probably want us to "feel" the gradual nerfs to be more OK with the result. They fucked up hard with Archnemesis, but there's not much they can do other than gradually nerf it now, I think. It is what it is. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
