" This is last node on scion - meaning, we would need put all 8/8 points in this ascendancy and not invest in third ring. And i don't think weapon and armour options are good enough (no obliteration) edit: actually perphaps it would be be abandonig third ring for some defence back? Hello, fellow WI enjoyers!
A new league is upon us. And this one feels like the old times, with massive changes that we'll have to adapt to. 1. There is a MASSIVE nerf to all Int stacker builds' ES scaling. Looks like the main target was HOWA. They got hit with several nerfs, and we get hit by the collateral damage. Some numbers: the budget version with 2700 Int and 12k ES will now have 8k ES. The endgame version with 3200 Int and 20k ES will now have 12k ES. That will definitely make uber bosses and super nasty Nightmare (formerly T17) maps harder. Then again, this build is very tanky not just because of the high ES pool. With the sheer Int numbers we are hitting these days, one of the biggest defenses is the damage reduction per Int: Higher Int and extra attr from the 3rd ring also let us afford higher levels of Immortal Call. There is also an option to craft +3 Minimum Endurance Charges on the 3rd ring. Maybe we'll have to keep Discipline too. And against uber bosses the best tactic is to delete them before they can do anything. Or just die less than 6 times. You know, Portals are Resources xD 2. Grafts are not getting added the core game. So we won't have an easy source of frenzy charges. Too bad. 3. Memory bosses should become easier to target farm. Which means that the price of Bound By Destiny should hopefully go down. 4. The new Scion Reliquarian Ascendancy will not be of any use to us in 3.28. In this league the items it offers are pretty much all melee. In the Phrecia league, its prototype (Scavenger) was only worth using because it had Obliteration explosions. 5. There is a new belt base that can be anointed. Of course, synthesized %Int version of that would be amazing. But I wouldn't count on that happening. You can put a random synth implicit on it for the price of 1 Sacred Lifeforce. But the chance of hitting %Int is very low. First we'll need to see how rare is that new base anyway. 6. There are many new exceptional support gems, and they are target farmable (drop from specific bosses, like in PoE 2). Perhaps there is something nice there that we can use. We'll have to see the full list. Waiting for more information. |

" Frostmage Support: Let's say we have 3k mana and we reserve 2500 of it. And we have 2700 Int (the budget version). Icestorm's base hit damage is 5-7 per 10 Int. That's average 1620 base hit damage for the budget version. With Frostmage, the base hit damage will gain added cold damage equal to 22% of the reserved mana, that's 550. That is 34% MORE damage. Instead of some other support we are currently using. So the overall damage boost will be a lot less than 34%. At the same time, the base mana cost of Icestorm (22 mana) will be increased by 5% of the reserved mana (125). Our final mana cost is currently about 3x the base, ~60 mana. And it will become ~450. I doubt we'll be able to afford that. And it won't be worth a little more damage. |
