Well it says "physical damage taken" and not "with hits", so phys DoT will also be taken as fire damage.

damage taken as always only with hits damage. When you press Alt to show the help text, it always tell you only the hit damage is taken as another element

It is the dev lazy design to omit some word in mod text and instead put it in help text

The legacy 100% res build use the Talisman to have one elemental hit damage completely "ignore" by taken as another elemental damage, so that only need to cap two elemental res to 100% instead of 3

Just GGG realized and made a hard 90% res cap, armor or reduced phys damage reduction also has a hard cap.


As i said, these build is way easy to die with DOT
