In the current state of the game, Aegis Aurora is tough to beat. There is just too much damage being thrown at the player that there isn't enough layers of defense to mitigate it all.

Your options are recovery on block, kill before being hit, recover damage taken over time, and dying. I don't really think there is enough regen and leech to handle most high damage scenarios (clearly there are edge cases here).

I think a lot people just choose damage before hit and dying; leveraging the 6 portals defense :)

I know Aegis is going to take a shot to the head, but they really need to examine the balance of damage vs. defenses in this game. They keep pushing us to screen clearing DPS more and more as they take away defensive choices.

No, you just need a decent level of ES to recover at a sustainable level.

I will say all this Aegis nerf talk is absolute prisoner of the moment lunacy. The item has been in the same form forever, and because some FOTM builds use it, a nerf spotlight has shone on it.

Let's take a deep fucking breath people. Maybe its the armor stacking and melding that needs review, or the fact that PoE in its current state is a damage fest, and you cannot stop moving even for a moment.

Strong agree. People have a hard time with root cause & symptom. Aegis being strong right now is merely a symptom of what you said.

Although if the max cold res went from 5->3 that would feel suitable in my eyes, and definitely not 'shot in the head' status. Power creep w Eldritch implicits ++ Melding has made max res a bit too freely accessible.

You seem to have taken my shot in the head comment as my endorsement of it being nerfed. The problem is absolutely melding of the flesh; full stop. Hell I would toss glancing blows in there as a contributor as well. My comment is a prediction of things to come. Not an endorsement.

Bcause you can farm 10 Magebloods before you will see one Squire.
