My first thought when seeing this thread was: First world problem :-D

Most players never had either...

Don't get me wrong, it is a valid thread. I just thought it funny.

I've never had a Headhunter before this league (and only have it because a very kind person randomly gifted it to me in town once s/he was finished with the league), nor ever a Mageblood.

yeah HH was much more iconic in terms of what it granted, mageblood is just OP it doesn't really offer anything that exciting you could do the same for any slot fairly easily

What Mageblood gives is huge QoL, and build enabling capabilities, plus it is so much easier to build a character that has mageblood.
HH is unique suited to farm maps, MB is an item for QoL and makes very strong sustainable builds, which also excels at bossing.
I have both belts, but I prefer MB, it's just more stable and consistant. Plus I can put an Inspired learning, and get a mini HH on my MB, which also feels good.

Also - 46% of the top characters in Sentinel SC atm are using Mageblood, that says a lot.

"Fun" is a bit subjective. Random teleports are terrible, very annoying.

What is not subjective:
- HH = Built-in God Mode.
- HH corrupts the original gameplay of the build, anything will become a jet machine gun, it narrows play styles.
---------------

Mageblood is the "less worse" of the two. At least it doesn't allow unique Flasks.
Headhunter is a buff bot belt. It gives you invincibility in juiced maps. It works kinda like Divine Shrine (you cannot be damaged) with a bunch of DPS boost shrines. It sucks in content without realible source of rare monsters (such as expedition logbooks) and it's completely useless in maven invitations or boss encounters.

Mageblood on the other hand is playstyle enabling item. Very flexible, very powerful, very comfortable in all situations. It allows you to easily cap your resistances which is doubly useful when Melding is meta (as that more than doubles default resistance penalty: from -60 to -130). Add a Quicksilver flask in there and you don't have to worry about movespeed either. This item frees numerous suffixes on your gear and you never have to worry about flasks again. Sure it's possible to 'fakeblood' with Flagellant mod, but this doesn't work with Evasion builds, you can't slap +70% effect on them and you're sacrificing a prefix on flasks for this charge generation. MB is like 3 times more powerful.
belt of a normal human > belt of alcoholic
mage blood is stronger , but headhunter is more iconic and has very cool interactions, headhunter is just a better unique
