My biggest drop in 6 years of playing...

I remember when div cards came in and I thought, cool, super reliable way to farm uniques -- because I am a certifiable idiot who somehow didn't realise this was just GGG's way of introducing tiered item chasing. And I'm extra stupid because I've seen it before in far less reputable MMOs and games like Vindictus: instead of chasing the item, you're chasing components of it, which are obviously nowhere near as rare but still rare enough to be a grind unto themselves. It's the illusion of possibility and probability: here's a legendary chase item, and it only takes five parts to make it. By the way, those five parts are super rare...

This is why I am a big fan of common div cards with high exchange ratios -- that to me is what a div card should be (the rarity of my own card is WAY fucking higher than I ever wanted it to be, given it takes 27 of the fuckers and the only other way to get the item on it is to pound starter-area sand with a shitkicker for ten or so hours). But this whole 'mirror shard' concept, and div cards that are considered lucky drops because they're a mere fraction of the actual desired item? Yeah, fuck that noise. That's just elongating an already painful process imo.
