New gem suggestion: Entitled Support

^atziri's foible already does this with stats. Also, no "new" player is gonna be finding and getting a level 3/4 exceptional gem anytime soon...

After some thinking, if we REALLY want a leveling-dedicated exceptional gem, we could have it reduce the stat and level requirement of the gear it is socketed into, as well as the stat and level requirements of the gems.

As an example:
Level 1: does nothing
Level 2: reduces stat requirements on socketed gear and linked gems by 20%
Level 3: reduces stat requirements on socketed gear and linked gems by 30% and level requirement by 10.

I wholeheartedly feel that completely erasing a requirement is incredibly bad for the game, but I think it could be interesting to reduce level requirements of gear by a small amount. We can already get +1 level of socketed gems rolled as implicits and explicits on gear at a relatively low level, so why not approach it from the top as well (with limits).

OR the gem could even be socket-color based. When socketed into a red socket, only affects red gems (at a higher %). When socketed into a white socket, reduces level requirements.
I believe PoE is all about trade-offs. It's not like you're getting blanket stat/colour requirements lifted, you are giving up sockets to make that happen.

Although I did point out that it has application in levelling characters, the primary purpose for me is that I don't have to somewhere sheppard +100 Intellience to my character just to comfortably run a fully levelled blue gem.
i rly like the original idea.

I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
Wow, with that title, I was expecting some smarmy, condescending passive-aggressiveness, and instead it's . . . a pretty good idea? Huh. I am mildly surprised.
Sronglly d8sagree. We allready have too much entitelmentness in theirs comunity.
I really like the concept: a gem which reduces the level and stat requirements to some degree. Should it also add increased experience gain for the linked active skill gems to help with the benefits of the lowered requirements? It could be used by end game characters as well to level their alt active skills.

Basically the original idea would be used to buff leveling characters, as they could use higher level skills to decimate their enemies. Similar to how a low level character can wear Tabula Rasa to have an early 6-link. But the benefit does not stay there, as a higher level character could equip a utility skill gem that would otherwise be unattainable because of stat requirements.

A low level character who finds level 1 entitled gem would not gain any benefits from it, as it would not gain enough exp to level before maps. But I think its ok. Not every player gets a Tabula Rasa to level with on their first character.

We could also add a special vaal exceptional gem, which is gained by chance with the corruption of any of the exceptional gems.

Vaal Entitled
lvl 1: nothing
lvl 2: Reduces soul cost 15% of linked vaal skills
Reduces soul gain prevention duration by 15% of linked vaal skills
lvl 3: Reduces soul cost 30% of linked vaal skills
Reduces soul gain prevention duration by 30% of linked vaal skills
lvl 4: Reduces soul cost 45% of linked vaal skills
Reduces soul gain prevention duration by 45% of linked vaal skills

I like vaal skills and I often use them. I would like to have a replacement for Soul Catcher for a permanent Vaal skill uptime. :D
