I wouldn't even know what good bases are beyond what my filter suggests. And if I did, I wouldn't even know what mods I should be looking for with each base beyond the usual life and resistances.

I never considered picking up and IDing them, because I was under the impression that unless the item was ilvl 84+ and influenced, it would have absolutely no value and thus it was a waste of time and effort. Even if the item was ilvl 84+ and influenced, I still wouldn't pick it up beyond collecting for ex shard recipe.

This is perhaps my greatest weakpoint in terms of money making. I've been so disillusioned with looting rares in this game that I stopped caring about equipment drops years ago and so I'm still running on information that is probably long since outdated.

Yeah Ive read this many many times around here and its just wrong.
Obviously ilvl84 double influenced gear with godmods would be better but who has that kind of gear and even if you had access to it, who could afford to buy it right now?

This early people want and need good life/res and their gear and thats about it. There isnt that much curreny in the economy yet either so you cant ask for outrages prices anyways.

As a rule of thumb:
Anything with 70+ life and 60+ res will sell in the 20-50c range easily.
Boots always sell for more, if they also have 25%+ MS while chestpieces are always worthless unless its at least a 5l.

This is where Harvest comes in because you can often and easily get socket numer as well as socket link crafts. Thats how you turn well rolled but worthless chestpieces into 5-20c sales. Still barely wort doing but if you happen to stumble across those crafts, might as well go for it.

As far as Essences are concerned you basically just need a few this early.
Greed, Anger, Wrath and Hatred will cover life/res rolls. All you need is a decent enough start to justify a benchcraft for whatever is missing and then sell it.
The other 2 interesting Essences this early are the speed essences. Zeal for MS and ATK speed plus Misery for cast speed. I focus mostly on Zeal and simply slam them on good boot bases like two-toned or fugitives to force a MS roll while hoping for life/res and then finish those with a benchcraft. Just like the boots ive got equipped right now. Nothing special or fancy but good enough this early.

Its really not that hard. You will sell this stuff at least until week2 or 3, then sales for items like this fall off a cliff.
Convert your chaos into ex as soon as you can and keep going. Thats pretty much all there is to it.

Hope it helps, good luck and stay sane
