it used to be insanely good in the era when it existed, but nowdays there are other, better options for defenses than raw life, which is kinda overrated. just a generic armour/ev base with suppress and ailment avoidance is arguably a better pick for a character with good defenses, and these chests can get upwards of 140 flat + 15% inc life on them as well. as for uniques just a brass dome is gonna be better almost every time.

you also lose a lot of options for utility and defense by forfeiting 6 sockets as well

but a +2 max res quetz with 30% spell suppression probably does more for your character.

Infact Brass dome probably does more for your character than Kaoms in many circumstances lol.

I'm not saying its bad, but its not 3 mirrors thats for sure

This is under the pretense that pseudo link gear and squire are the standard while in reality they aren't, sure some people use them but most people use a generic 6l and another 5l utility/2 3Ls.

Exactly and they should, no one is crazy enough to throw away a 6l chest for a 500 Kaoms nowadays when most builds need every gem they can get, and even defensively speaking Kaom's is mediocre at best since it just gives you 500 life and nothing else, barely any armour, no evasion/es, no spell supression no % phys reduction; I don't know if it's laughable or sad how bad Kaom's is nowadays.
