Dear GGG, please lower the overall difficulty of the game
" How many hours has it taken to get to that point for you this league if you have hit that already? |

" I'm asking you to pretty please stop using that SC term as its an OFFENSIVE AND HURTFUL term. Its bad enough having to deal with thousands upon thousands of hours of this ingame can i not deal with it here? Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony#3358 on Mar 11, 2022, 9:28:36 PM

Long time player started 2013- never posted much until now because I'm ready to quit this game.
The existence of trade has the same effect of an inconvenient D3 auction house. POE has been fully corrupted by that ability. Loot drops and difficulty have to be tuned in that context. Players like me who don't want the D3 experience are forced to live with drop rates set for a player base that insists on using an auction house. Trade artificially amplifies drop rates and could potentially implode the game. it makes players target currency for the best items. I have 12 ex and 1 mirror so the expectation becomes i trade for better gear just like D3. I don't want that. its not fun. If you like that fine, but i want to find or make my own gear, but i cant. Lack of time and multiple atlas resets again and again. I also play what i find fun and get penalize for it. SSF is actually the way this game was designed to be played, but it's an order of magnitude harder because of a loot/difficulty disconnect wedged into place by content generators and guides. who it seem use the AH as the best way to quickly generate content. So new players who are trying to get good run into a massive grind of frustration. If trade let players easily access the pooled drops from >10,000 boss kills. I think 5 to 10x the drop rates for SSF characters is very reasonable. Otherwise the way loot and difficulty is structured harms the games long term health as i walk away with my wallet. Do i feel entitled to access all of the content, F-no. But its so hard to progress a fun but sub optimal SSF build past yellow maps. Personally i think GGG should implement a direct buy systems that pools the drop chance for currency and let players buy specific items out right. I can roll currency for a random chance for a mjolnir or buy it out right just like i can with sockets and links. I think that's a fair compromise. better players with better build and knolage can progress faster and deeper make the game as hard as they want, but I'd like to see the lowest difficulty shaper fight at least once before they reset the f-ing atlas once again. |

" Disagree, Not sure how you can come to that conclusion.. The game has had multiplayer support since i started, SSF didnt even exist for a long time. It was designed to be played as a group otherwise they would not have added party scaling and guilds and so many other things that show they have had multiplayer in mind at many stages of development. " We have Expedition/Ritual that pretty nicely fulfill some of the direct-buy capability but in your concept you're giving up ITEM QUANTITY/RARITY in exchange for filling a bar up to buy a specific item? please elaborate :D I'm really curious. " i remember back when ppl were contantly requesting SSF. the way i see it is SSF is actually for players very good knowledge of the game and have no issue funneled into using meta builds. i think i know what tombstone meant by poe droprate being influenced by trade and it should have been ssf from the start. i believe that people who wanted SSF also wanted the droprates to be adjusted to the fact that trade is not allowed. the entire reason why exalts and mirrors are so rare in this game is because GGG already took that into consideration when adjusting droprates. in grimdawn and even d3 (after they restricted trading), drop rate were adjusted for a "single player" experience. yeah i know they can be played MP, but the point is, the equivalent of exalts and mirrors would drop in those games much more frequently as players are expected to not be able to access them from trading. similarly people who asked for SSF on poe may have expected GGG to rebalance drop rates based on the fact they're playing solo. to me that would actually be an interesting idea, but should that be implemented, SSF characters need to be hardlocked so they cant migrate out. as for partying... i would say i really dislike how much more beneficial it is too party rather than without. " I dont know tbh. Im not checking stuff like this, Im just playing the game. I can try tho. My starter build was an Arma Brand Ignite Elementalist and I stopped investing into this build day3. Its purpose was to unlock the atlas and it could handle T16 maps easily at fairly high pace, thats all I was asking for. I still played the build for about a week to farm up currency and make a decision which build Im going to play next. My second build was a Chains of Command Occultist. Never played that build before and it looked interesting/promising enough. I reached some 5-7 mill sustained dps day2, which is good enough to kill everything except the toughest Maven invitations on a 4ex budget I think. On day3 I invested some 10ex more and pushed to 12-15 mill sustained dps, which was enough to clear everything although it was bumpy in some instances. Finally I dropped 60ex into this day5 or day6 because I could not because I felt the need to do it and I think Im sitting at about 20-25 mill sustained dps now. Im not entirely sure about my dps because PoB cant calculate it properly and I cant figure out how to fake it. This is pretty much where I stopped investing. It just didnt make a whole lot sense. The sustained dps arent super impressive but high enough to handle everything. Bosses are a joke and basically dont exist, mapping is fast enough and I can handle all Maven invitations as long as I do pay attention. So its not quite effortless but I dont want to invest more than I already did. The build is good enough and only fails if I dont pay attention, screw up or do stupid stuff. Im really good at all those things I just mentioned but thats hardly the builds fault and no investment in the world is going to fix my own stupidity. " Full partys get a decent boost to item quantity and all of this stuff i don't see why they can't add an option for solo players to for example consume additional portals in exchange for boosted monster hp/quant/rarity though even if they did the above you'll be missing out on 5 inventory worth of items when it comes to maps and other concerns in some other content. As far as just outright boosting SSF that does not seem unreasonable especially if migration is off the table but i would assume they are still going to be sent to Standard and Standard does have an economy so that might be a problem too.. Would it be ok with anyone if boosted SSF was voided? FR sometimes i just want to test a concept and idc if i keep anything. *rant warning*
I have great news for ya, outside ssf and usable drops, even if GGG reduced the drop rate of everything by 100 times, nobody would be any poorer. The market would adjust and everything dropping would then be worth 100 times more. Its the rarity of the viable gear for a comfortable endgame on most builds that causes the current infuriating grind. Or the ocd hardon for lvl 100 that some have, totally unlike my well-adjusted hardon for roflstomping rolled 16 league content on the cheap and quick. Well, on my part, i can enjoy doing the same thing, while relatively focused no less, over and over again only for so long. I do 5ish overstuffed 15-20minute maps and its no longer about fun for me on that day. Shock and awe, i actually play other games (warhammer total war, civ 5 vox populy, dawn of war, heroes, disciples) and even enjoy other equally non productive pastimes (novels, manga, tv shows, *culture*) that all compete for the same 3-4h of "me" time on the same day. So when poe tells me that I can't expect to make it anywhere in a league with that amount of playtime and GGG tells me it isn't afraid of destroying standard build, I'm feeling a tad miffed. |

" It's not about I can do some guy or not. All of my legacy T16 maps had been turned into those 4 maps, so I can only do these 4 maps. (Horizontal orbs are useless here) It's not true. If you don't want to follow ninja guys' builds, you just have very small chance to build a playable bd for main and most contents. For example, choose a incinerate elementalist, than die, die, die....than give up & quit, than wait and see next league. Last edited by smtad#6581 on Mar 12, 2022, 4:19:06 PM
