Something must be done about The Forbidden Trove Discord

The Forbidden Trove is violating peoples service agreement rights daily, yet nothing is being done about it. I was recently scammed while using the "tft" discord, I was contacted by a so-called moderator which told me he would refund the scammed amount. He forced me to link and allow access of my poe account to share information with their discord. Immediately upon doing that, the so-called moderator of tft instantly blocked me and I started to receive threatening messages from a "mod bot", which told me "are you ready to pay?", "thanks for your patience.", "you are banned". I panicked thinking my account just got scammed from me immediately came back to POE website to unlink the discord.

What I didn't realize what had occurred was far worse--- they blacklisted me. Not only that, they have a "quick app" for shaming people.

I'm very new to game, only ever been honest in trading and dealings with others, what could they possibly ban me for? Needless to say, hearing "I am blacklisted" from 40% of the players I try to group with insanely effects my gameplay. To the point I think I'm never buying another supporter pack again. I am really upset this community is allowed so much power, even so much as to create applications to ruin peoples reputation.

I am sorry I ever used the TFT discord, it is the biggest mistake of my POE career. But needless to say, something must be done about this discord's power to have random people ruin other peoples reputation under no justified circumstances. It's simply a crutch to exact revenge on others outside of the game's means.

Firstly, i'd like to say sorry about your bad luck.

with that being said, GGG has NOTHING to do with that 3rd party site.

threatening to stop supporting GGG for tft is like beating your wife for what the dog did.

That's freaking shady af. The dude/moderator basically scammed you of your refund because you were scammed by one of their user/seller?

Something can be done . Stop using it and play the game as intended.
Yeah sadly TFT was a good idea, but as things go with good ideas, as soon as it becomes popular, the bad seeds get in. I have tried using the services on few occasions, and they attempted to scam me every time. Luckily through my years of PoE trading, being used to scams, I was able to avoid it.

However, as is the case with OP, any relatively new player will most definitely fall victim to their scams.

Yes, GGG is not (hopefully not) directly involved with TFT. At least not officially. As that would indeed be very bad publicity, as there is a lot more going on there than just scamming people. So even though GGG is not officially involved with TFT, it would be only good for their reputation to make a official statement sticky'd somewhere warning players specifically of TFT.

Wait. You gave your account information to someone else? Sorry. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I've been playing games on computers since before there were floppy disks. We used to trade them on cassettes. That's literally the stupidest thing I've heard someone do.

It seems important to note that there are no "service agreement rights". It's a Discord group, just a random group of players, not some legal entity. And it's unrelated to GGG, so there's no recourse they can (or should) take. I wouldn't touch TFT with a 10-foot pole.

So what should be done? Don't use it.
- here's my sig
They should fix it by reducing harvest to what it should have been reduced to, it helps keep the top end power in check which they seem to obsess over while doing nothing about and the rest of us never see any crafts because they already made them so fucking rare to cater to the 5 bezos's that trade them.

I can't see how hosting a cabal helps your game, most developers go nuts when this stuff happens and they go hit whatever mechanic it is on the head just to maintain control.

The powers fun they should either give it to the masses or take it away

You can save yourself from 99.9% of scams by only dealing with higher ranked traders. Never a "TFT guest." If you want service on something really expensive and you're paranoid you should video clip the entire trade process. If you're really paranoid you should not do the finishing steps of any mirror-tier craft on TFT.

TFT has Chris Wilson's full endorsement and support given his actions since Harvest so it's not going anywhere. It's a core part of the game like poedb and poe.ninja. This is unlikely to change since adding the conveniences of TFT to the game would reduce trade friction for regular folks too much, and nobody but a coalition of popular streamers (never gonna happen) has the ability to push people towards an alternative. The rare cases of unjust bans are just something the community has to accept. Sorry that happened to you.
just take yourself off the list. ;-)

and i don't think it makes sense for ggg to step in, there might be plenty of such closed circles and if they ban the tft discord they certainly encourage their creation.

the problem is a technical one (craft sharing) and it needs to be fixed ingame.

the direction to go is changing harvest to the way "rox crafting" works or similar. or implement some ingame tech to officially share crafts
