Consuming Thrall mobs are way too strong

Get better gear?
I mean in real life if I stub my toe in a corner I don't ask for the house to be demolished, I just put my shoes on. |

Well it happened once again on a map with no possibility of escaping their stupid lightnings.
But good news that was the last time :) I'm done with this shirt. Last edited by wisfrede#3091 on Oct 18, 2022, 3:56:41 PM

" and if when you stubbed your toe with steel toe boots on and your toe gets chopped off then what? +1 even after the change these are still too overtuned |

Oh so thats what these guys are called. I typically don't die to them, but are on instant high alert when I see them. Problem is they are never alone, 1 or 3 aren't going to do much, but when there's a big pack of 7 or more and you don't notice quickly and stand still, they will melt you due to the sheer number of projectiles.

Whenever I do anything in this game where I know I'm ok, I think to myself: "Yeah, but what about chaos resistance; is it at least zero?"
The resistance penalties in the game are all I think about when I think about Path of Exile in general. But when they're not a problem, I think, "When is this going to be a problem." |

White T16 Map (sanctum farming) + Wellspring of Creation (25% less monster damage in maps) and I die to them time to time when they spawn just when I use my portal to get out of the map they literally kill my char with 40k ele max hit (assuming poedb is right they do lightning damage) before i can see loading screen to my hideout. Something is really wrong here.

i wont even run eater in an indoor map because if i have to face these in a corridor where i cant circle them its 100% guaranteed death even thought my character has 15,000 hp.
theyre so stupid, i wanna say they put out a least 10x as much damage as any comparable mob pack in the game, outside of the also broken fireball mobs in blight. if you encounter them in a small space their projectiles are unavoidable and even if you had 60,000 life you would die. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" That "almost" is doing a lot of heavy lifting, because there absolutely is more than enough counterplay. I didn't even realize which enemies were being complained about until I googled them, because despite running EoW for the first 2 weeks of the league and all of last league I don't think I've died to these things a single time. First of all, they can't track in the middle of a barrage, which lasts quite a long time, so all you have to do is move/dodge sideways and you'll take absolutely zero damage. You get multiple seconds of them spraying shots where you were instead of where you are, which should be more than you need to wipe the pack. Second, their ranged attack deals pure lightning damage and can be both evaded and blocked, so any of the following will greatly decrease the damage they deal: block, high evasion, overcapped lightning res, topaz flasks, fortify, molten shell / steelskin, life/es on block mechanics, ghost dance/divine shield. Third, they have Far Shot, so if you close within 30 units of them (about the reach of Frost Blades' melee strike) you will take far less damage. |
