Allow spaces in character names.
Simply as said in the title. I'd like to be able to use spaces in character names for two simple reasons (that I could come up with at this moment)
It makes it easier for players to make a name that is not already taken, and secondly it's more pleasing with a character with a real name like Galvin McRae rather than NinjaShredder, IkillUluLZ and all other silly names out there. Kind regards, Last bumped on Jun 5, 2018, 5:57:23 PM

good suggestion.
One note though: have a "maximum" number of spaces allowed... could you imagine some of the names if you could use20+ spaces lol |

Yeah. I'd honestly rather underscores be disallowed and spaces be instituted. Obviously fairly simple rules like "don't have multiple spaces next to each other" and "Don't count spaces that lack alphanumeric characters on either side.
so: "Bob Ross" fine " Bob Ross" and "Bob Ross " needs to change and "Bob Ross" needs to change (Ironically I think the forum automatically cuts out the double space in that.) Proper First Name and surname over here! Why am I wearing a heavy belt if I haven't got any pants? Last edited by Milchut#7741 on Apr 9, 2013, 9:44:54 PM

" Good things pointed out there, I totally agree that there should be a limit. Having spaces before/after your first/last letter in a name would only make it a hassle trying to communicate with others |

Many text development libraries have code to trim white space from the beginning and end of a string automatically. It wouldn't be that hard to write a little bit of code to alter runs of whitespace to a single space.

Bumping this once more, hoping that at least some more people out there who had a problem coming up with a character name or just sick and tired of trying out even random keyboard-bashing-names that's already taken.
Thanks for your support so far guys |
