It was said that maven invitations can drop woke gems IIRC.

Yes but Chris said that it will be lower tier woke gems, best gems will be obtained only from maven.

Well, its probably time for me to learn the fight. Never trusted floating women enough to repeat it after the initial fail who knows how long ago, lol. Never needed the drops that much also to begin with.

Fight itself is easy and somewhat clear as u can see what's going on. THe problem is the memory game... I work hard and my brain almost explode daily so when I get to play I RLY DON'T want to test my freakking memory. Its not bad the first time but later when she starts left, up, down, up, left, down I arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr want to kill myself before her exploding me like its best to alt f4 and return. RLY ANNOYING shit design.
the memory game itself isnt even the problem, for me atleast

its the freaking poor visibility in her last phase, often i simply cant see which area got highlighted because the beams force me to move too far into one of the 3 tiles

a simple solution would be to add an overlay option where the area are highlighted as well
It seems a lot of folks here are having trouble with the final phase of the Maven fight. Here are some tips that may help you (things I figured out that made the fight easy for me):

Assign each segment a number/letter/something (I use 1, 2, 3). As each segment highlights, type it into your chat. You don't have to remember anything then.

In the memory game with the lasers, the mistake I used to make was trying to watch the whole screen for all 3 segments. This is incredibly difficult with a laser floating around (I felt like I was getting cross-eyed). Instead, stand at the divide between 2 segments and only watch the small area where that divide is. This allows you to very easily see 2 segments and the laser that is coming. Make sure your sound is on so when the segments start lighting, if you hear the sound but DON'T see one of the 2 segments you are watching light, then that means the one you can't see is lit. This is dramatically easier because you are focusing on a much smaller visual area.

Once I started doing it that way, I never failed the memory games again.

i´m doing it that way,but sometimes the visibility still totaly sucks

poe just loves the artificial difficulty created by etreamly poor visibility, there is no reason for a bossfight like this to not have a easy overlay option that clearly shows which area is highlighted

a small circle next to the map with 3 areas similar to the maven arena would be no work at all but a huge QoL uprgade

maven is easy same can be said for sirus,i would even go as far to say the mechanics in the fights are good but the execution sucks
Sirus is more fun compared to Maven. He had such a great loot table, too, and it's a shame they're moving the gems away from him.

Is your visibility issue due to degen pools? Are you dropping them in the center of the arena? If you already are, makes me wonder if you have some kind of contrast issue. If so, I've seen some streamers use the nVidia thing to adjust settings, which made even the Sirus arena easy to see.
I like Maven. I'll die on the hill that she's one of the best bosses GGG has made in a long time. All of her attacks are heavily telegraphed, no hitscan attacks which are especially annoying when done offscreen, the DoT pools can be manipulated to minimize how much of the arena they take up, and she's clearly visible in the arena. More bosses should be designed like her.

Now keep in mind: Just because she's the best, doesn't mean she's perfect.

My only problem I have with Maven is her memory puzzle. I have ADHD, my ability to keep track of her 6-part puzzle is harder than most players, and it gets even worse when I'm trying to avoid the lasers on her final phase. If anything should be changed about the Maven, it's removing those damn puzzles or at least make the patterns easier to memorize.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

The biggest issue with the memory game from the maven is the fact you cant do anything about it beside playing big brain academy to train your brain?...

all jokes beside; An RPG in its core essence is all about number grinding to begin with; you get your numbers up; you can take bigger hits, and to harder content; rinse and repeat.

So basically all the content is the game you can work towards and grind a build to; even the sirus beam you can just face tank with the proper build (sacrifice clear speed for more tank and so on and so forth).

Now back to the maven: i completely suck at mind games; that is why i do not play mind games to begin with; i do not like big brain academy to prevent dementia from developing at my age.
At the same time i am a middel-aged man that can only focus on 1 thing at the time; this means i am incapable of watching explosions and deadly beams flying trough the air; try do distinct some tile light up at the same time, and let alone remember an order of multiple tiles anything more than 3...
at the same time i am trying to play the game for amusement and take a sip of my beer/lemonade.

And losing the mind game at that point is not the worst... its the sear fact the insta-death-weave comes in to just kill you; there is not a build around (exact that 1 with the overleech that was bugged AF) that can withstand the death wave...

In short; i just always skipped the maven after wasting all my portals in the fcking mind game though i like the maven fight without the mind part...

and yes; before someone talks about just trading: in trade league i will still skip her and just trade the stupid gems,
But in SSF i feel trapped by the maven now :(

concluding TLDR;
Either please replace the mind game with some other mechanic;
OR
atleast make the death-wave do the same damage as the sirus beam so people can design them builds to withstand it...

Ill still play the league it looks amazing but! please dont force us to fight maven, i hate the fight and like OP i die to every memory game, it dident bother me at all before, cause i could just buy the stuff i needed from her, but now with awakening gems dropping from her, that kinda sucks, a much better move would be them dropping from the new minibosses & and new bosses.

Memory game is a pretty bad mechanic & poorly visualized, and its pretty much the one thing that makes the fight bad.. what you usualy end up doing is buying a carry, for the unlock and just forget about her.

And its fine, we cant all like the same stuff in a game like this, but stuff like awoken gems, should drop from bosses/mini bosses the majority of the playerbase like.
Well, Allegedly spells actually do damage agin for the first time in like a year so maybe give it one more try.

I hate her too
I have never felt further from what I know and love
