Slight concern over Voidstones
|
As far as I've seen (have not looked at full Atlas reveal, if it's even out) there are maps up to T14/15 and players can get 100+ Atlas passive, even with no voidstones socketed. So players who don't kill endgame bosses are still going to get to high maps, they just won't have as much variety when they get there.

" They already have that issue and still haven’t addressed it well…. It is called consoles. |

" If you've only gotten to him at A4, 3.17 will overall be a massive buff to your play. Your atlas isn't being blocked and from the looks of the reveal, you still get up to T16 maps, it's just only the final line of maps at the top are T16. The bonuses you got from Awakening Level and completing your atlas before are being transferred to the new atlas tree and from my understanding, you will get a lot more of a bonus (plus the ability to pick stuff that you were locked out of prior, like the Uncharted Atlas bonuses I mentioned before.) I think the issue you actually face is that in 3.17, it will look like you can't access a big chunk of stuff and therefore you will feel like it's incomplete. What you may not realize is that this was always the case AND it was more so the case before 3.17. The only difference is that 3.17's layout makes it plain and clear just how much you were locked out of whereas prior, I'd bet most casuals who don't Youtube didn't even know the Uncharted Atlas existed. To be clear, there were a LOT of atlas bonuses you were missing out on before if you only got to A4. In 3.17, they will actually be GIVING YOU those things you missed just for clearing the maps you can see on the atlas. If you never got to the point where you could do high end endgame farming, the stuff you can't get won't actually impact you much if at all. Your experience won't be worse--it's just your perception of how much there actually is got better. |

yea, i am NOT happy with the locking atlas upgrades behind 'completed all endgame content' requirement
having a tier14-16 atlas in the past was a chore, but it was possible for basically everyone that put the time into it. if im going to play an off-meta build, this change essentially means 'pay for carries' or i cant even use sextants. DISLIKE. |

I have concerns too… But I don’t think it’ll be that bad. The first two bosses probably won’t be that hard for the initial, modless kill. Two void stones will probably raise quite a few maps to T16. In my experience, if you can’t defeat endgame bosses you’re also likely to struggle in T16 maps anyway. Endgame bosses are a jump from T16s of course, but you can probably kill them at least once if you’re handling T16s deathless.

" Good. Sell your sextants until you can afford to buy a carry. |

i dunno, i feel like theres lot of people who would really struggle to kill the maven but could 1 shot their way through t16 maps like they were a joke, i dont think t16s are even remotely in the same difficulty bracket as the maven.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" They seem pretty content with splitting the player base, though, given there are private leagues, HC leagues, Standard leagues, SSF leagues, events, PoE Royal, and probably more. Also, the player base is a lot larger than it was a few years ago, so it should be able to sustain more leagues with no issues. The way it currently is, you also lose players (to the not-playing-at-all league). Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

I don't really like doing big bossfights (in any game) so for me it's pretty bad news, but I also do understand it's a thing now. We get a lot of other stuff for free now like the Uncharted passives, something most other 'casual' players never got a lot of.
I'm just happy there is no voidstone behind Sirus to be honest. Maven will probably be my biggest struggle too, I literally have a very bad short time memory, but I still hate her less than Sirus. |

" semi-casual here, how does one buy a carry?? |
