Slight concern over Voidstones

"
I honestly cannot find a single thing this change makes worse for casuals so I really don't see how this is a step back.

For example

get good own drops like

Awakened Support Gems "better obtained only from maven"
Orb of conflict
some atlas pasive skill points

1) In the old system, you needed to be able to farm Sirus a ridiculous number of times to reliably get a higher end woke support gem. If you can do that, I don't think you count as a casual player.

2) The orb of conflict is basically the new Maven orb for non-influenced crafting. If you can't get the orb of conflict, you couldn't get the Maven orb either since they both drop from the Maven. I fail to see how this is an example of why the new system is worse for casuals than the old one.

3) You can get 117 of the 130 or so atlas passives w/o getting a single voidstone. Do you also hit L100 on your characters every league? Because the points you are missing amount to the power difference you get going from the low 90s to L100 on your character.

in general, the game now requires more skill to get to the same stage of the atlas as before. Earlier, unlocking the entire atlas was not as difficult as it is now, I mean max map tiers. Chris mentioned that the fight against the sirus will be at level a8, being unable to control that is bad for me probably for others too.

If you are referring to A8 unlock, this is true. But if you are referring to the benefits you got from doing that, this isn't the case due to how frontloaded the atlas benefits will now be.

Note that Sirus is no longer a required fight and he also doesn't drop any woke gems.

Haha perhaps. The arena mechanics for maven are arguably harder but I can actually do the maven fight itself on worse gear than A8 Sirus.

Also don't know if you have farmed Sirus for gem drops before--his drop chance is MUCH worse on less than A8 than it is on A8 and A9 (where the chance isn't that great still).

Casuals do lose some things for sure. But my point is you'll see that you gain a ton as well and the gains seem to greatly outpace the loss.
I have never farm Sirus, i just kill him few times at a4. I don't like the idea of blocking the atlas this way. We'll wait and see. maybe it will not be so bad.

It is what it is man!...
I'm only playing SSFHC since few years.
Hardest content I did is Atziri, Maven 10 bosses fight and Sirus A0... I never killed Shaper, Elder or Maven, so like you I'm probably not going to have a single Voidstone but you know,i decided to play like that and it s impossible for me to go softcore or trade league. And I accept that because I did this choice and this is what make me continue this game, each league I'm better than the previous.
I probably had more satisfaction and high BPM when I killed Sirus than any "soft" player killing it 6 times a day.
I made this choice and I assume it.
Maybe go trade soft league, should be easier
