[3.20] Shockwave Cyclone Build (League Starter) | Slayer | Forbidden Sanctum | Path of Exile 3.20

Hey guys,

I've recently started playing and A friend gifted me a full set of times for my Cyclone Shockwave slayer

Spec below:

https://pastebin.com/XgTq3Hrc
Is there anything i'm doing wrong? Am i using the correct passive tree? Are jewels setup correct in the passive? I feel like i'm not using my character optimally.

Please have a general look across the build and let me know what you think.

I'm currently at tier 9-10 maps.

Any feedback really appreciated.
So I managed to craft a Staff base which has an empty prefix and 2 suffixes. 1 suffix will go to multimod, prefix to phys damage increase (Pure? Impale? Bleed?), we have one suffix left and following choices for crafting:
- 8-10% double damage (1 divine)
- crit chance (25-27) 4 chaos
- crit multi (25-28) 4 chaos
- Str + Int + crit chance (20 stats and 21-25 chance) 1 exalt
- 5-6% increased damage per endurance charge (I have 7 of those at max)

I have 49.01 crit chance already when channeling. And 4 power charges get it up.
Though my crit multiplier is low (310).

Which would you take? Stats + crit seems obvious, due to price and possibility to get rid of some Int on other gear, but 8-10% double damage could be better, right? I have 8.2 attacks per second.

Can’t look at the tree at the moment, but the gear setup looks fine. If you are worried about the tree, check out the one I posted a few pages back and compare.

Most likely it’s crit/stats and phys, but check pob.
I made the transition from two handed axe to staff/shockwave and something went horrible wrong. I mean really wrong.

Before i farmed exp T8 belfry map but at level 89 there is little exp left at T8 and i tried T15 coral ruins map and using axe build it went surprisingly ok-ish. I more or less melted through trash mobs and needed 2-3 seconds for yellow mobs.

But using staff und shockwave feels so little damage. The shockwave explosions arent usefull at all cause trash dont die instantly. While using axe i had no real need for explosions cause trash die still T15 in a split second. Single target staff dps is much much worse too. Overall now it feels much slower (even movement but that cant be?!)

dps went down from 420k axe to 240k staff. Even 600dps staff in PoB onyl gets me 340k dps.

If i import my passive tree, jewels, items and skills into another PoB i get double dps unchecking configuration tab too. I dont understand.

My axe PoB https://pastebin.com/Xn5G2TsU

Can’t check PoB atm, going to assume you followed the tree I posted.

Assuming that’s the case, hegemony is a terrible staff. You can get much better for 5-10c. 550 dps staff will give you roughly 3m dps with shockwave + cyclone with trash gear.

As far as swords / axes versus staff - if you can afford a sword or axe that’s 30% more pdps than the staff you can afford than it’s better than staff (this is unlikely to be the case, but it’s possible).

I am trying the passiv tree to the top path. If i import only items and skills into your PoB it shows 1,5mio dps. I know there is many checks set in configuration and using same checks my dps goes up to 850k but beside endurance charges i dont see how we get frenzy charges and power charges during a single boss fight like sirus.

Probably some settings that you have incorrectly.

Either way, trash gear + 550 pdps staff will give you around 3m dps with cyclone / impale and shockwave.

Your tree might be messed up as well, check the one I posted or the one on my profile and go from there.
That would be nice of you. It would be no problem to respecc to your tree. I was ready to spent some exalts but first i need to know this staff/shockwave works for me.

So the most important point to take staffs are shockwave and cheaper gear?

The other gear is all the same for sword / axe as it is for staff.

I don’t think one is particularly cheaper than the other, but they all have their own benefits and drawbacks.

1. Swords - easy to cap accuracy, downside is the best dps nodes are on the other side of the tree. Also relies heavily on expensive cluster jewels to deal dps.

2. Axe - best for leveling, easiest to craft thus good for SSF. Good balance between staff and sword.

3. Staff - bad for leveling, best crit scaling, able to use shockwave.
