Constant Latency Spikes

Starting this league, I consistently have these very constant latency spikes. It will jump from my normal latency of 30-40MS to 150-200ms. When interacting in game this behaves like a stutter for my character, when i am crafting / spamming something like fusings on an item for 6 link, I'll get a message "Failed to apply item: no target item found".

I've tried different connectivity options, VPN seems to be the best workaround, but it isn't a 100% fix. While not on VPN, the issue is far worse.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Well you give part of the answer yourself --> problem is not so bad when using VPN.
This proves that there is an issue with the normal connection from your PC to GGG server via your ISP network.

Please do this -->
1. Don't start VPN.
2. Go into a play instance and start a WinMTR report to that INSTANCE IP.
3. Now play / stay in it and see the lag spikes several times (minimum 5 minuttes in the instance but the longer the better).
4. Stop the WinMTR report and post the report here.

Also what PoE gateway do you use to login and have you tried others ??

WinMTR report here

I've tried other gateways, but it is just compounded by having an overall higher starting MS, so instead of going from 30-40 up to 200ms it starts at 100ms and goes up from there.

Typically use the US Texas or DC gateway

Capturing new logs... but i don't see anything jumping out as a huge problem. 6% loss on one route over 400+ packets isn't amazing, but it shouldn't be noticeable, i wouldn't think.

Why do you have latency spikes between your pc and the router/modem up to 192 ms ?
10.15.18.1 - 0 | 588 | 588 | 10 | 22 | 194 | 12 |
This should be rock stable at 1 - 5 ms.

Are you by any chance using a WiFi connection in your home ??
If yes, then you will need to change to a cable connection.

If not, then you will need to look into the following -->
- Bad cables being used.
- Bad / defective plug in either the router/modem or your PC.
- router/modem needs firmware update.
- PC need latest VENDOR drivers installed for chipset, netcard and so on.

You could also try to turn off the router§/modem for 1 minute and then turn it on again.

Same issue but even worse now -->
10.15.18.1 - 0 | 1001 | 1001 | 10 | 21 | 403 | 11 |
Latency spikes between your PC and router/modem is now up to 403 ms.

Sorry to say but problem is in your home and have nothing to do with GGG.
Sorry OP, but as pointed out, this is basically route level stuff, if a power cycle dose not sort this out then you need to contact your ISP

Except that its happening to half my guild, as well as myself. I also notice a very abnormally large amount of posts complaining about the same thing. This game is TERRIBLY un-optimized for being in 2022. A game this old? C'mon. That said, I don't have a problem on any other game, and the problem started a few weeks ago.

Again since you have provided no data (like @OP) claiming your problem and his problem is the same is not correct.

@OP's problem is very clear as you can see from the provided data....

So please follow forum guidelines and make your own thread and provide the requiered diagnostic data.....
Take a look in the tech support page. Nearly every post is about lag spikes, and with half my guild suffering the same issue (130+ people) I think it would be safe to assume the problem lies with the server. I won't be continuing this conversation any further. Good day sir.
