Lightning Mastery

Could the tree possibly get a Lightning Mastery on the bottom or bottom left side of the tree? I like to play Lightning Strike and Smite and Static Strike.

Thank You!

My Zerker has no issue pathing to a lightning mastery playing SSF static strike, and doing quite well with it to boot.

Guys, his zerker had no issue so case closed, pack your shit.
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1.
Yes, why did the static strikes got moved to witch? One is needed around ranger area I think
It’s not hard to path to a lightning wheel from the marauder starting point, and lucky on non-crits and elemental overload is worth the investment.

On the way there is a mana reservation wheel, some good life nodes, and for what I’m doing I use frost breath with the all hits chill mastery from maces. Pair that with a Doryani’s prototype, some investment in scourge to get -200 lightning res, hydrosphere, and 3 warcrys and the clear is fast and the bosses go down smooth.

This has been a fun and rewarding build to play this league and is about a non-meta as a build comes.

Would it be nice if there was one on the south side of the tree? Sure, but not having a lightning mastery down there does not prevent a kickass build with lightning damage.

I suppose they could do that. Fire probably has the widest presence, covering the left and top side of the tree, even some right-ish with burning brutality. Cold is a bit more restricted to right and top, but lightning is pretty much found only in a small area on the top side.

In a way, it makes sense, as elemental damage is loosely aligned with int but also has a slight bias with fire-str, cold-dex, lightning-int. So, fire is str-int, cold is dex-int and lightning is int-int, therefore the most restricted of the three. Sense or not, wouldn't hurt to spread it out a bit more into templar and shadow area, should still be fine as long as it doesn't go into the bottom half.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Why is cold damage aligned with dex, by the way?
Ice isn't exactly agile or fast, lightning would fit better?

maybe the elements are like a "counter" to their base stat

cold slows/freezes to counter speed
fire dot counters regen
lightning deals more dmg, es normaly has the biggest es/hp pool

i dont believe there are a lot reasons behind it,they picked the a system at the start and kept it

Lightning is power, as with mana, energy like in energy shield, it is the more unleashed manifestation of power in the game as shown by the explosive damage variation and thus harnessed by advanced, intelligent means.
Fire is more akin to vigour I guess, heat is a sign of life in humans, intense physical effort causes heat and it is a force that more primitive beings are able to harness, ones that are likely to still rely on sheer muscle for power.
As for cold, I guess it is associated with finesse and precision? For some reason? It really is the lack of energy, unlike the other two damage types so I find it a bit harder to explain.
The power triangle in poe is really quite intricate
I think it would be cool if every area had a new mastery node where you could align it with any mastery, maybe a new jewel or something. So you had the ability not only for lightning but other wheels that you would'nt be able to get on certain areas of the tree.
