Hey, I found a guy just as annoying as some of the other usuals who like to post 10 times a day.

I really would like an option to blank out every post by certain users and just replace it with a picture of Goofy with a caption that says "im a dip$*&^"

Please make it happen.

You mean posts by someone at work, who moves over 5000 pounds of product per day vs a 1600 lb average among peers, working 12 hour shifts, accomplishing all tasks of his job, and more to the point where a corporation basically lets him do as he pleases because it leads to greater profits?

Why thank you.

i actually like this.
if i boot up a new game and it basically tells me "fuck you you cant have this" it motivates me to show them whats up. people find enjoyment in very different things, but games in general has shifted towards catering to the most common denominator over the past 2 decades, which is good for sales but quite dissatisfying in terms of diversity. most people wont enjoy poe, thats not a secret, and it shouldnt strive towards being something most enjoy. its fine, and desirable, to have games that cater to certain niche audiences. thats why you find these greatly polarized opinions in threads often, because things which one player might find as absolutely devastating to their experience, is something that another player sees as a positive.

this fleshcrafter incident is a clear example of this. while a large portion of potential gamers will see this as an oversight and absolutely awful thing, i see it as a pitfall originating from the unrestricted possibilities of this beautiful intricate mess of a game, the very thing i love about it. a double edged sword of possibilities

and yes of course we are having fun. wouldnt play if i wasnt having fun.

Well, so, let me ask you. (I know I was gonna leave, but sometimes actual discussion sprouts!)

Is this game mostly or entirely fun because of the learning? Say you not only understood all of the game entirely, but also mastered it, and could do whatever you wanted within the realm of possibility.

Is it now no longer fun? Because the journey of learning, and the overcoming of these mistakes is no more?

Do you only have fun because you believe that you have improvements to make? (Ignore the connotation that question has. If that is the only reason, then that is fine, as it is still a reason.)

no, there is of course more than just the learning.

i enjoy seeing theoretical concepts come to life in terms of functioning builds. i enjoy optimizing and number crunching to meet content requirements.
i enjoy mindlessly exploding screens and playing my character.
but if there was nothing more to learn, the game would definitely become less fun. every time you learn about something new a door opens up somewhere and maybe it can be exploited somehow to improve a build. maybe it helps you in figuring out how to optimize a certain mechanic. to solve a small part of the puzzle. if you knew everything it would ultimately take away from the experience. would i still enjoy the game? definitely. but it would take away the aspect of research
costly mistake, sorry for you loss.

but the game allowing for errors ever made for entertaining moments like hardcore streamers dying from a caustic flask or people getting their characers removed from a league in bandit fights.

the only issue i got with this, is: you either design your game with that "punishment of fuckups" being intentionally or you don't.

because if you just let some few of such traps in your game and sometimes fix some, it all comes over as a bug or design oversight or bad joke to the players affected.

so far, ggg swings between those sides dependent on who you ask.

In diablo2, when you get to runewords and stats, and some high level stuff, it's way more complicated than entirety of POE.

Right, and what happens when you don't pay attention to the order or base type for a runeword with some very hard to get runes?

If they do D4 right, if they do it like they did D2 right, I don't expect this game to be on top for very long. I just know that Blizz has lost touch with reality, but you know, they pulled Starcraft2 real well, you never know.

Blizzard North as well as d2 team are gone, mmkay. All that current actiblizzort cares is moneyz and player numbers, so you can guess the direction d4 is going.

My merc died in d2r in town because of poison while as a player you can't die. No warning received. Schtoopid game /ragequit.
Looks like an oversight from the devs and they will likely review how chaos to ES conversion works all over the board.

I expect either a band aid like dropping the chest armour when AG dies or having minimum 1 HP when chaos at/over 50%.

@OP

Maybe open a new thread in feedback and suggestions where you can give some ideas what could be improved and your personal impressions with this item so far.

Its a more appropriate place than GD where threads usually derail and get spammed faster.

Doubt that. Fleshcrafter was introduced in 3.11 and since then every other day someone complains about it, thinking its a bug and the mods are moving all those threads to gameplay&help.

If it was an oversight, they somehow managed to keep overlooking it for more than a year by now. Doesnt look like an oversigth they are going to fix at all.
Its the intended mechanic. It does exactly what it says its going to do.

There is no oversight and nothing to fix in my opinion.
