Research Results: Predatory Monetisation in Games

one of the reason why I don't buy cosmetics in poe because I value my money. I have this mindset "why should I buy this expensive cosmetics when I can buy a full game with similar price?"

I don't buy cosmetics because I'm not into dressing up the dolls I play with.

I used to be against spending. Then I played League of Legends and saw all the nice skins. Once I saw one that looked well developed, and like something wouldn't come out better, I started thinking about buying.

Then, they released loot boxes for honor. Ofc.... no one ever had enough honor loot boxes to really result in the skins you want, and there was a shortage of Keys, so you started stockpiling lootboxes you couldn't open.

This got me buying lootboxes, keys, in hopes of getting what I wanted.

That was over 5 years and 8 accounts ago. Each account nearly maxed in skins/champions owned.

I bought just the essential MTX here that I wanted for a cool Glacial Cascade build. Then, Glacial was nerfed, Lion's roar became melee only, and knockback cascade just didn't do it anymore. So I moved on to a different build.

Now I own most MTX on POE, including most combinations, and like 26 Stash pages.

You do you. I go on cruises instead.

Did the Mexican Riveria last Summer, and have paid for 10 people to celebrate our Silver Aniversary this June. That costs. A lot. Also planning Alaska in 2023 but haven't paid for that yet.
