Ok a couple quick things:

You are using a Spell shield, this does not help your melee skills.
The rest of your gear is fine for your level, although you can upgrade the necklace quite easily.

Your skill tree is using a few points that could be better spent.
But, as a new player, this isn't terrible at this point.

Life and resistances are the key right now.
Make sure that you have 75% resistances which you can see on your Defense tab of your character sheet.
Rings and necklace (in my opinion) are the best slots to get resists in.

Your shield increases damage and crit for spells, not attacks. In other words it contributes nothing to your damage.

no, he means literally, the rare Jingling Spirit Shield you are wearing.

offensive skills are separated into attacks and spells

static strike (and your previous molten strike) are Attacks. your shield has mods "increased spell damage" and "increased crit chance for spells". these mods DO NOT apply to static/molten strike.

so your shield is really only giving you 22 life, and some energy shield. Energy shield is NOT a stat you should care about. if you find ANY other shield with life + resists, it will be much better for you.

oh i was using it for the energy sheild only in that case i copy but what about
the Tempest Shield ? is it a good skill ? should i put it in my new sheild

i have invested a lot into energy sheild now i will convert to life and resistance maybe some block and evasion too ha ?

i fixed the sheild i guess , i will fix the jewels with life and resistance
but it will take time ,

Shield is better, the Cleave unique gem is useless (mostly) unless you are using Cleave.

When you beat Kitava in Act 5, you lose -30% all resistances, so you need to get better resistances on better gear as you progress. Keep upgrading your gear as you go - you may get lucky and find some really good rares. Don't give up :)
