Trade experience is garbage

One change I think would be great would be to allow for B/O or "Exact Exchange" items to be bought without having the player leave the map they're in... no haggling, no butt hurt feelings when someone doesn't say "Thank you so much, good luck, and have a wonderful day and rest of your life" etc....

B/O is exactly that... there is no need to stop what you're doing just to find out the person that wanted your item found it elsewhere for a little cheaper. I can't say for sure, but a bot will almost definitely beat me to the punch on inviting the buyer, exiting the map, retrieving the item from stash, and then opening trade with the player when they enter the hideout.
All generalizations are false.
They know. They want it that way. They explained it.

Really speaks against GGG's "muh trayd manifestu" when they said they wanted to maintain player interaction, doesn't it? There's no real interaction when trying to trade, just copy+pasting messages.

You've misunderstood that completely. The requirement for 'interaction' is that both players have to actively participate in the trade at the same time. There is no mention in the trade manifesto of polite chatting.

From the start, we knew that Path of Exile needed the ability to trade items and that we had to be careful not to make it too easy. We had seen what happened in other Action RPGs when characters could be upgraded trivially. We added trade chat and a secure player-to-player trade screen so that people could negotiate transactions and complete them without counterparty risk.

So that's where we are today. It's easy to list items for trade, easy to search for items, and is often quite frustrating to complete a trade. This remaining frustration is the only thing standing in the way of trades being basically instant. While we understand that this sounds like a positive thing, we are very concerned regarding what will happen if that does eventuate. We have to prioritise the long-term health of Path of Exile.

so they don't want instant trading because it will "ruin the game".
but they allow use of trade bots who do instant trading.
nothing to see here.

They don't allow botting, it's simply a very difficult thing to squash and is always a constant arms race between game devs and bot devs. Whenever new technology is made to detect botting, the bot devs will design them to be harder to spot. Runescape's had botting issues for years, for example, and they're still fighting to remove them all.

It's not as easy as saying "we don't allow bots" and suddenly they just stop existing. They already don't allow them, do you think the botters care?
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Given that the situation people are complaining about is with bots, that clearly doesn't have an impact. It is a red herring...

Companies with magnitudes more resources than GGG can't fight bots, so there's no way GGG can either. The bot manufacturers have far more time/money than GGG... and a vested interest in keeping the bots going. It makes them money, while GGG putting resources into fighting them will only lose them money.

Bots are just a fact of life in the gaming industry...

Are we speaking of the same trade bots that deal solely in the pixel "moneyz" aka "currency"? Big "lol" then, cause basically everyone who exchanged "currency" at least a dozen times in a league knew them by names, but well, they always invited you and traded quite fast unlike the real people, who, to the contrary, tried to be as effective as bots running their maps while ignoring whispers and maintaining their "egg-salts per hour" value, hehe.

And even if these bots weren't that public, identifying them was a piece of cake - low level unascended characters in a basic hideout, doing over9000 transactions every day.

Incorrect... You may assume they're bots when you look at them as a human, but recognising them automatically is a whole different thing.

Whatever rule-based mechanism GGG puts in (which will cost them a lot of money), the bot creators will have that circumvented faster than you can say 'bots are bad'...

Assumption was hardly needed, as i remember some years ago the bot ingame names were circulating in this very forum, before "naming and shaming" thing taking place and they were still alive and kicking the whole league cause of being the "lesser evil", hehe.

Oh, and i won't say that "bots are bad", i'm quite indifferent about their existence - and in case their owners will get an extra cup of instant noodles by RMTing their "earnings", good for them, i don't mind. Its just kinda funny reading that "still valid" trade manifesto sometimes and seeing people still blindly and zealously defending it.

Agreed, trading is just sad in this game. Nothing else needs to be said. Unfortunately GGG doesn't care.
