Trade experience is garbage
Trading is garbage. Yea it has been said many times but imo not enough. Trade is the most horrible experience I've ever had in any game, and that says something. I have to whisper 40 people before I can buy an exalt and that is 40 people that posted in the last 15 min. Sorry but that is ridiculous. Not to mention I have to use third-party tools to make trading even remotely bearable.
And the horrible excuse made every time that better trade makes for an easier game. Sorry but I've been playing since Blight only and everything is already insanely easy. The nerfs people complain about in expedition did nothing to power aside from cucking some builds from the meta and making even less builds playable on a high level. The only thing these updates are doing is making braindead noobs more complainy and moany. I would play SSF only but the leagues are too short for the time investment needed to make it feasible to play. Last bumped on Nov 27, 2021, 10:00:05 AM

IDD that it can be rough at times, but I would recommend not starting with the lowest ratios when messaging people if you value your time. If you pay a small premium people tend to respond more.

Just do what I do when it comes to trading exalts: Put your chaos up for sale instead of looking for sellers. I had the exact same problem as you had, but when I put my chaos up to sell for exalts, I got a lot of people PMing me for trade.
You can then do something else in the meantime like mapping. I expect maybe one or two maps before you start getting messages for trade. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

One change I've noticed lately is the complete absence of any communication beyond the bare minimum. No one even says "thanks" anymore. Essentially you just send a ME WANT BUY message, maybe haggle a bit, but that is all.
People used to be quite a bit more cordial on average. I don't blame anyone, though, as trading is a major slog these days, especially if you're trading fragments or currency, but the whole "player interaction" angle is a complete joke at this point. Personally, I would prefer a system that didn't necessitate trade so much. We honestly don't need a billion garbage fragments to put in the map device to feel like we're running maps "efficiently", and rare item drops don't need to be this trash. Trading should be for the more big ticket stuff - the endgame rares, the t1 and t2 uniques, the shaper map sets, bulk currency, etc. - not literally everything. |

" Really speaks against GGG's "muh trayd manifestu" when they said they wanted to maintain player interaction, doesn't it? There's no real interaction when trying to trade, just copy+pasting messages. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Yes trade is the main reason I get burnout before 1 month of league. Maybe in PoE 2 they add a descent trade mechanic, but for PoE 1 my hopes are literally 0.
It's funny because they are trying so hard to fight the player output they have every league by making the game harder, but I bet that atleast for most players the reason is very simple: being exausted of trading more than actually playing. |

The real "secret" reason they will never fix the trade experience is because the wealth imbalance is so high that allowing access to a better/automated market would immediately allow that Effer Empy's group and some others to price fix any item worth buying, and then the market will be even worse than it is now.
So GGG is protecting all of us by preventing us from directly seeing how bad their reward balancing is. |

Trade is also Number one reason for me to get burned out in a league.
Playing maps without full sextants, scarabs etc isn't worth the time but buying these will take longer than running the map . No thanks. |

Yes, yes, this is very good. If trading feels bad, it is working as intended.
