Playing True SSF (no buy, no rewards)

Lately i tend to play many games with certain restrictions to make them more challenging and even uncertain wether i will succeed or fail miserably.

In poe i started playing true ssf which means i can only use what im finding, so no skill gem rewards from quests, can sell what i find but must not buy from vendors, etc.

Sounds harsh and it sometimes is, up to the point where eventually chars get abandoned.
Oh the other hand its so rewarding, every skillgem drop is total hype.

Im tired of planning builds and the constant research of how to improve, in true ssf all comes down to the question of "how can i make this work".
After 2k hours i am finding gem combinations or usage of uniques that i never considered before.

On my latest char "NoRewardsHobo" i have found a bunch of brand gems and i never played or considered playing a brand char.
Then i found a bitterdream and a call of the brotherhood, specced into brand and lightning mastery and now my storm brand chains +1 and walks trough packs on its own, freezing and shocking everything, its a blast to play!

Also found an agnerod north staff im still trying to 6-socket before harvest linking.

Havent had that much fun in poe in a while, even the campain was fun.
On my other, normal ssf char it was a painful 20h campain and i was so burnt out after clicking the same skills, when i got trough i didnt want to play anymore.

I hate playing trough the campain with a passion, true ssf kinda solves that it seems.

Can anyone look at my char and tell me what unique makes the most sense to try chancing with my 1 tainted mythic orb?

Nope. Not "true". Find a better adjective for your extra rules. Nothing wrong with them, but to impose "true" on it also characterizes those that don't as being "untrue".

Your use of "etc" in that list doesn't make gramatical sense. You don't establish any rule as to what likely comes next.

Must agree with Shags...as MY rules are the "true" SSF way to play! :-p

I like "unvaxed". Topical.

But you really can't extend the restrictions to "no NPC interactions". Might limit your interactions to only when an NPC has an ! over them. That would at least let you access some of the content.

Ok so basically my rule is that i must not buy from vendors, can take any reward unless its gear, a skill gem or anything that directly increases my power.
Books of skill and respec are fine.
All league mechanics should still be possible, so trading with expidition npc's is also ok.
Taking uniques out of the blood altar is ok, i didnt find it but i generated it, i found the beast.

I dont mean to remove all the fun stuff but remember when multistrike or melee splash was a rare drop only item and cost 20c?
Nowadays the game gives you everything and a little more, doest feel like a struggle anymore.

There are tons of ways of bringing back "the struggle". Glad you found yours.

Think crafting should be disallowed as well - just use what you pick up, no using any orbs on anything (even alchs/essences), no bench crafting, no harvest crafting etc.

Would be a proper test of how 'good' the PoE random drops are.

I play by SSF rules GGG given. No way I'm adding restrictions to already game doesnt let you pin point farm about 75% of uniques and crafting is not happening until maps where maps and Jun hides best recipes. Sometimes I say to self do I want to do this slog all over again and end up quitting league. I'd quit in acts without gems. I don't like trade because people bug me more than SSF has nothing to do with making it harder.

I'm not trying to prove anything. I'm just a guy surrounded by people all day and want solitude when I go in my man cave. No trade. No kids. No women and I put my phone on DND.
