Don't worry , since you always have the option to switch your main attack ( FS ) with Lightning Strike and farm Chaos without any problems .

Sure, assuming I had a 4,5 or 6 link, with 2 red sockets. I have 2 evasion/es items atm with a red socket. Only one red means no + weapon elemental dmg which means crap dps.

1 Red, 3 Green.
I just now got a 5 link, and all I did was add in item rarity.

That's one way to do it. And missing a crap ton of dps with no +weapon ele dmg.

And the fact that you just got a 5 link is neither here nor there. Drops are random. I havn't seen a 5 link since I got the one I'm wearing, days ago.

I'm not missing any DPS because I can clear chaos without ever getting hit. Why would I need to add more dps in that case, it's better to increase your drops. (I've started removing more and more DPS gear as I level my gems and trading it for more MF gear, with ranged attacks you simply don't need a lot of DPS to reliably clear chaos.

where do you get all the strength for lightning strike? do you need items with like +60str all in all to use it on a high level?

I use a Belt (+33 strength) and a +20 Onyx Amulet that has a bonus to all (+43 stregnth).

Prior to these 2 items I was using a Heavy Belt (+35 str) and an Onyx Amulet with bonus strength.
Those 2 bonuses are more than enough to use a high level LS gem. TehHammer is not a crime!

I'm completely new to Path of Exile. The OP's build looks like a lot of fun to me, but from what I can tell apparently some changes were made since the start of this thread (and before I started playing, so I'm not sure what those changes were).
Can someone give an honest assessment of how good/viable this build is, with end-game content in mind (Maps I suppose)?
