0.9.13 - In Depth Flicker Strike Dagger Guide

Good build. I've leveled it almost to 40 and I like it. I currently use frenzy to allow me to bypass the flicker cooldown because my energy shield is only around 800 with the use of disciplin and I don't think that is high enough to go CI.

I did grab CI temporarily just to play around with it before refunding myself the point. I noticed that there are some mobs that can bypass the energy shield and go straight to your health, which leaves you getting oneshot sometimes. Maybe I am doing something wrong here? That is the only issue I've run into with the build.

You can't get oneshot, as you are immune to chaos damage.

Not sure i like the build to be quite honest.

3 reserved auras + tempest shield. It's just not going to be entirely viable for a very long time.

I perosnally never liked to over-fill available skill keybinds either it's just a headache.

I mean, you got what. 9skills that need a bind/slot working for ya?

Pro tip: you can put auras on secondary weapon/shields put them on and switch back to ur tempest shield one.

Forgot to say that ;)

GGG are currently debating as to whether that's going to change or not, just saying.

I like the build but it's definately a late-game solo build. With so many auras and such people need to be aware that you're not going to be able to stack these auras untill you've invested considerable gear.

The average player trying to level this from scratch will struggle with this build.More-so in groups because the odds of landing a kill for frenzy charges decreases because of more players. Which will leave you auto-attacking for the most part with the occasional Flicker Strike. Additionally, monster HP will increase in parties. As a "guide" imo, these things aught to be mentioned for the newer players.

Fortunately, i've plenty of gear and gems and stuff lying around to make this entirely viable instantly. This isn't gonna be the case for a lot of players.

The build as a build is a pretty good one, issues aside the only thing this build is slightly slacking is Aoe damage, Whirling Blades makes a better utility/escape than a reliable aoe skill imo, due to lack of damage.

I just spam flicker strike 24/7, dont really care about aoe, they go down so fast lol
To op, why faster attacks on FS it hits once when you have charge and not more why is attack speed important for this build?

Each time you kill an enemy you get a frenzy charge because of blood rage, so you can spam it forever if you one-shot enemies.

Thinking about swapping out faster attack though.

You are correct that I can't get oneshot. My energy shield just wsn't high enough. I've since got it up toward 1500 and I don't get one shot anymore. Damage over time attacks are devastating to this build though. You can't really do anything about it since there isn't a pot or anyway to instantly recharge the energy shield.
UPDATED - Only flicker strike is not viable anymore

How this works?
Took alot of Crit Damage nodes as offence with Chaos Inoculation and Energy Shield nodes as defence.

If you have enough Elemental Damage you will freeze, shock and burn mobs on every crit! ( especially shock is important )

You're immune to chaos damage so you can have Blood Rage on 24/7 - You'll need frenzy charges for flicker strike. ("Flicker strike: Now has a cooldown which can be bypassed by spending a Frenzy Charge.")

Spam Lightning Strike for AoE and Flicker Strike for SINGLE targets. Always pop Diamond Flasks when fighting stronger mobs, ALWAYS open up with Elemental Weakness, even against single enemies!

-

Fire Damage
If you land a critical strike with an attack or spell that deals fire damage, the enemy begins Burning. Burning causes damage over time. Humanoids, Monkeys and Sea Witches will flee while burning.

Basic burning effects last 4 seconds, and the amount of damage over time is 1/3 of the initial fire damage dealt, per second. So a total of 4/3 of the original damage, over 4 seconds. Total burning damage can be increased with skill gem bonuses, passive skills, and item mods that increase burning damage. In addition, the Vulnerability curse can increase burning damage, and the Temporal Chains curse can increase the duration of the burning effect without reducing the damage done per second.

-

Cold damage
Hitting an enemy with cold damage can cause the enemy to be Chilled. Critical hits with cold damage can also cause the target to be Frozen. Chilled enemies move, attack, and cast 30% slower, while frozen enemies cannot do anything except drink flasks.

-

Lightning damage
If you land a critical strike with an attack or spell that deals lightning damage, the enemy becomes Shocked. This can be stacked up to three times on one target. In this state, monsters or players take 40% more damage per instance of Shock from all sources. Under the effects of 3 stacks of shocked, an enemy would take 220% of the damage that would normally be done without any shocked stacking, no matter the type or source of the damage.

LOL, how is it possible for you to have 5k - 7k ES with these equips and nodes? Even Buffed up... Just wanted to know, thank you
