Flawless logic, coming up with me saying living with your parents is stupid when I never said that or hinted at it.

My bad! Fixed, brah.

you dont need any skill in an ARPG.

if you wanna play a game with skill go play quake
thats where you really need skill

Time + commitment + a couple of other things = skill. You won't be the best at Quake if you don't play 8+ hours a day. But keep comforting yourself by thinking that you would be as good as Kripp if you just had enough time :)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Yes, no, and yes.

He has the most race points. And not by a little bit -- by a huge margin. The difference between him and 2nd is the difference between 2nd and 17th. He's the best racer, and obviously so.

The trick is to reconcile that information with the things you already know -- that he's not the best theorycrafter, that he doesn't have the best knowledge of the game's mechanics -- and re-evaluate objectively what it means to be a good racer. What you think is important probably isn't, and what you think isn't important might be.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Invalesco is a better theory crafter for starters. How many interesting builds have you seen Kripp do? His one keystone build is the only one that comes to my mind.

Can't for the life of me remember the guys name, but there are many more people who know more about the game's mechanics than Kripp.

As far as racing goes, is there a way to see solo only #1 completion wins? If he is top out of wins/races, I will accept :P

P.S. Not hating on him, let's get that straight. Just realize, that me personally, I just don't find him to be that AMAZING of a player. ScrotieMB said it correct: He's like a marathon racer.

EDIT: I value solo races > party races in terms of skill.

This thread is just oozing with negativity and jealousy, would be nice if a mod showed up and locked it.

thats bullshit my friend. time+commitment has not so much to do with skills. especially not in quake. you have good eye-hand coordination, movment and aiming or you dont. yes, you can train to get slightly better, but you will never be able to compete with SK|rapha, fatal1ty or any other high profile quaker, no matter how much time you put in. because that is REAL skill.

you do not need any real skill in an ARPG. period.

My hypothesis is that a good percentage of people playing do not have any concrete achievements and so they fervently discuss and rant about the 'complexity' of groupings of pixels to balance the absence of real talent, of success, by making video games seem like a challenge; a sport worth dumping hours of time.

These race rewards are similar to the trophies handed out to everyone at Little League, and much less significant.

And yet, in the grand scheme of things, who really cares who wins what-trophy?
