Huge lag spikes in maps

Having same problem... Huge latency spikes out of nowhere. I can be alone at hideout or in middle of a group of mobs.

Never had this before. Even played the game to arrange currencies in the Remove Tab only. Then the servers went offline for new league and the nightmare began for me.

Did everything that I could:

1 - Recorded a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GoW6-XkalE
2 - DNS Flush
3 - Put .EXE of path of exile on eception at firewall (yeah, i tried everything)
4 - Used WinMTR to check for packetloos, and saw some of them
5 - Changed Network Mode (@ options) to Predictive.
6 - Tried to use google dns, open dns, whatever dns.

None of this solved.

The ONLY one thing that i tried and solved is that Im using WTFast (free trial for test).

Yeah, a Tunneling Service solved the latency spikes. Its not a good option, also it has a 7 days trial, but after that is 3$ month.

I dont think that im going to pay for a third part service to solve a problem that I never had.

Edit: Server is Brazilian, but Im checking everywhere and a lot of ppl is having this issue.

Really hope that someone at GGG try to check what they did during the launch. As I said, never had this issue before, even 2 hours prior to the launch, everything was fine.

So, your traffic goes through the exact same hops and you have the same exact PL from those hops?

If not, then it's not the same problem, it's the same symptoms.

Read the stickies and post a WinMTR in your own thread if you want help.

As it stands, this isn't a GGG problem as far as the OP's issue goes.

If you go through this support section, you will see 1/3 of post are about ping spike and disconnect issue. And often people only have this kind of problem with POE. So it's hard to convince me that this is not GGG's issue.
And there are hundreds or thousands of people who DON'T have issues. Of course all you are going to see is people having issues in a tech help forum.

Either post the required info in your own thread, or don't. I don't give a shit, you are the ones having the issue, not me. I come here to help people who want it.

First trace: Paris node Second trace: VLC02 node. You are getting packet loss that carries forward = bad.

Since these are in the middle of your trace, they are harder to get anything done about. I'd talk to your ISP as well as GGG. Tell them both that you are getting PL in the middle of your traces and see if they can forward this on up/down to their providers to see if anything can be done. That's the best that can be done honestly. If it was your ISP or GGG directly, it would be simpler, but unfortunately, it isn't. :(

Is it normal that I have this PL only on specific maps on the scourge league?

I tried some maps on my character from standard and therewas no issue.

It depends on what instance server is grabbed. Normal, not really. Expected, sort of. Any sort of packet loss is REALLY bad for POE because of the way that it is coded. It just doesn't like packet loss at all (netcode). Other games can wash around some minor PL, but not PoE.

Would a VPN solve the issue?
And thank you for your feedback
It might, best I can do. :) Most VPN's will change the pathing that your traffic takes, so it's probable.

Np, wish I could help a bit more. Like I said, with issues in the middle of a trace, it's really hard to get things fixed.

I'm having the "same" problem. It started yesterday and I was able to "fix" it today.

Problem: huge lag spikes in maps/hideout/anywhere.
Fix: Changed network config to lockstep and I'm using a software that change the route to the server or something like that. App name: ExitLag.

BTW, My speed tests were OK in both fast.com and speedtest.net, but when I checked https://www.azurespeed.com/ the spikes finally appeard...

So maybe its something related with azure servers?

Hope this helps someone
