Graphics glitch when using Vulkan API
Hi all,
Has anyone been getting graphic glitches when using the Vulkan API? It looks like this: https://clips.twitch.tv/RoundFunMelonWoofer-PZYPpY3keTbYh05X (Not my link but its the exact same issue i found when i was googling for solutions) I dont have any problems using DX11, but thats a stuttering mess and is borderline unplayable in higher density maps. Ive used Vulkan ever since they implemented it with no issues but now its literally unplayable. Using Cyclone, when i start spinning the graphic glitches literally cover the entire screen. I5-9700KF Nvidia 2070 32Gb RAM Ive ran the package checker. Completely reinstalled PoE. Downgraded nvidia drivers. Cleared shader cache. Fiddled with in-game settings but no change. Ive gone through all the troubleshooting steps in the stickied posts here, which has helped run the game in DX, but it hasnt made a difference when running the game in Vulkan. Ive also ran Doom using Vulkan as well which runs flawlessly. Last bumped on Jan 13, 2023, 1:08:08 PM

Have had similar issues since the patch that re-enabled item linking today.
Edit: Not sure what fixed it. All I did was reboot pc. Edit 2: Same issue the next day, graphics just decide to madly flicker for no damn reason. Updated nvidia driver to 496.49 and rebooted. Appears to be working fine as of 1pm this edit. Last edited by Aklyon#1392 on Oct 26, 2021, 1:06:55 PM

So I installed Nvidia drivers 469.49, whilst also resetting all the caches for PoE as well.
No such luck, BUT! Someone on Reddit mentioned capping FPS, And I've found it fixes the problem if I cap the game to 100 FPS? It did work capping at 120, but after a while the issue comes back. So will have to see if that happens at 100 as well. |

I've got it capped at 60 (since my monitor is 60 and if I uncheck enable cap it will instantly go bad until I re-check it), but it still will sometimes just blind me with giant black orbs flickering when I cast exsanguinate or just render random effects on me or nearby in ways that look very obviously, distractingly off while sitting in my hideout or in town.

I am also having this issue on Vulkan but not DX11. Any time my FPS goes above 45 (so all the time if the window is focused), the game devolves into a particle effect and orb filled monstrosity.
Clearing caches, updating driver, and rebooting did not help. |

I have the exact problem. Sometimes the game works fine. Sometimes it has this bug and I need to restart the pc.
Updating the drivers doesn't help either. I was using 472.12 driver and had this bug, then updated to the latest 511.65 and still have this problem. It's so annoying. Has anyone had a solution for this glitch yet? |

I ended up upgrading to an Nvidia 3070 (not because of this, my GPU was on it's way out anyway) and it's mostly fixed, but I do still see the flickering very occasionally on the main menu screen.
The only 'fix' i've found is capping your FPS. Go down to like 60 fps and then up it incrementally till you find the sweetspot. That's the only temporary solution I've found so far. |

Got this crap yesterday with my new 3060ti. First thought was artifacts and faulty gpu. Also its gone when i change multythread to singlthread but game starts to run like shit. Dx12 and dx11 is fine but with lower performace. 144 fps cap dindnt work but didnt tried 100.

I found the FPS limit only worked if I limited it to 60fps. I've switched to DX12 now and it seems to have fixed it. I upgraded to a 3080 as well and still got the same thing occasionally on Vulkan.

Why no GGG staff reply to this topic? Many people have the same problem, and GGG doesn't offer email technical support now, we can only hope someone to say something on the forum.
