You need to find a way to support your frequency-dependent skill so it has a chance to generate a fortify stack regardless of damage per hit.

I tossed some junk on an old Cyclone Zerker at start of league, and I hit up the fortify wheels and masteries when I re-worked him. Had no problems maintaining 26 Fortify doing Mino to unlock my Atlas. DPS on him isn't amazing or anything right now even at 80 rage, since I didn't max out his gear (most of what he needs long-term is still on other chars).
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

i personaly can only assume fortify is at its current state somewhat buggy, i also play with cyclone (berserker) and rarly get to 5-8 stacks during map clearing, lets not talk about bosses (map bosses though not even endgame bosses)
and i have the gem support in my link. if this is the way they want to go with it, idk, seems to be a very hard nerf for melees, i understand they dont want casters with it but yea, melees are screwed as in my case its quite alot of damage mitigation gone |

"You're doing CwC Desecrate with Dark Seer as your weapon. Fortify is now based on how much actual melee damage you do, and you're not going to be doing much...so of course you're not going to get much Fortify. You'd get better results if you had Rage Support instead of Fortify Support and took the Marauder's Fortify passives (and Melee attacks Fortify mastery). But outside of that, there's not much else you can do. What you're seeing is how they intended it to be. These kinds of non-melee caster builds who use a melee skill for nothing more than mechanics are precisely the kinds of builds they wanted to cut off from Fortify (or at least limit substantially). I use Frenzy and Bladestorm attack skills with 10 frenzy charges and 60 rage on standard so my melee dps is ok. I have tried the new mastery and switched back to the support gem. My build is 100% close combat melee and maintaining frenzy on T15 and T16 maps, let alone consistently full, is a pretty fruitless effort. Yes I get up to 4 or 5 most of the time while mapping, but it is hit or miss with a boss when it is needed most. I said this looked like how it would play out. Disappointed to be right, and hope they adjust.
This build also uses onslaught on fort so it is a double whammy. Giving them a chance to tweak (fingers crossed) before I go back to the drawing board again with 3.16. Definitely not feeling the warm cuddlies at the moment. Last edited by Roziel_Longblade#1889 on Oct 25, 2021, 7:39:52 AM
