It is just one of the ways that GGG tries to make the game as competitive as they can while still keeping it an ARPG. Most people don't play PoE as a competitive game but it gives some added incentive to the few that want that.

ye those messages about this person or that person is the 1st to do xyz are really not needed. Perhaps ggg should give all players the ability to turn those messages off, and leave it on for themselves, if they are so inclined to know who no-life's this game.

It really annoys me too so distracting.

I agree it could be done better. I'd honestly turn them off if given the option. What's really annoying to me is that they're displayed with the same priority as important messages like "server is coming down". Eventually, you filter them out... and can miss important updates because of it.

Then perhaps those messages shoudln't be sent out at the same level as important ggg updates/messages then. I could really give a rats' ass who finishes what 1st in this game, and I hear ya, if given the opportunity to turn them off, I'm sure at least 75% of the players in this game would since everyone is encouraged to play this game the way that entertains them. These 1st messages are not entertaining to say the least.

I have to get some life in this thread. I started playing this summer 1st of july and had felt overall it has been fantastic.

I easnt that hyped for new league start but if felt okay and I thought of playing some hours.

I got so tilted I though of threw this game in same garbage bag as Diablo 4. "But the game is good overall and after a week its not annoying anymore".

Thats right, but if someone in the dev team ever came up with such stupid and annoying thing that is not able to turn off. Kick him directly. Change system. This is as bad as if if was flashing ads popping up while playing. It just disturbs.

Human eyes are fenomenal at two things. The first is that we have a superb focus in a really small area. The rest we cant see clearly and often we mix paintings up and so if we don't use the focus.

But in all that area were we dont have focus as the superb ability - we got suberb detection skills, to survive. When somthing moves, often fast, or flashing and similar, the eyes are directly theer to check if its a danger.

And the most fun og it all. Not one single person that plays this game for fun care about any of that information. Send a mail to them after 24 hours who signed up on a list or whatever.

Put that away. When stupidity ever exist, then i bet it can happen again, will happen and get worse.

Every time when something is implemented or so, there need to be a reason - and a reason that not annoy a lot of people. Did you totally miss this?

If my cosmetics didn't work (my boots did) it's no problem. It is a failure, and nothing that was intended to be.

I had 70 options what to turn off and on och whatever. That one I couldnt. Why? Even if it is importantt information that servers will go down in 30 minutes (which is nice information and it doesnt pop up ever third second). But why dont we get the option to turn it off? I wouldnt have turn that thing off. Its not annoying.

Normally there is a reason behind most - and sometimes it didnt work out trhey whay meanted, like a boss skill och whatever. Thats fine.

But if only one little reson sounds good enough about this horrible decision I will look at ever of those messages, and I will learn every detail about every "first or whatever". But trust me, there is no good reason at all.

Stupidity as limitless. And people have complained about it. You cant defend that decision to keep it. You can defend a skill gem, a boss ability and everything - but never this!

If you want, I can mail you very time something similar happends in or out of Wraeclast. Like "Now I ate my first pancake of today". Would it be interesting?

People warned me about that chat could be insane today but that insanity was lik 1/1000 of the insanity with yellow text. The worst color because it is the one easiest to see/read when there is a black background.
