⭐ Your Scourge Final Impressions? ⭐ ⋆Updated⋆
Was my worst league start ever.
First i broke the golden rule to start with as league starter you know and tried out something experimental and landed on my face hard. The whole time i got zero drops except a 6 Link chest from a lvl 53 heist i went into at lvl 80. I deleted the char out of frustration and started a Ranger playing now Elemental Hit. Most of the gear i had from my other char didnt come in handy cause it was a spellcaster. Today i found a enlighten and got finally some currency. But yeah Elemental hit is not cheap either so i think it was not the best choice either. The league mechanic is okayish but the real nice addition is the skilltree. So far having not a good time but it was a lesson for the future that i never ever again leaguestart with something i dont know. You only got so much time playing Poe when you need to work and the game demands alot of it so gotta be efficient. |

" I can understand and empathize with how frustrating it can be when an ascendancy and ability you tried to pair together 'doesn't quite work out', but don't let that dissuade you from trying new things! The best place to test out new ideas is to have one of every class/ascendancy that you want to play 'pre-leveled' to around 90 in 'Standard.' Every league or so, you get a free 'passive tree reset' when the 'Devs' alter or update nodes on the passive tree, which means you can reallocate all of your points to try out a new build. Save those 'passive points' and only reallocate them in 'Standard' when a new league starts. Test out the build you'd like to play in league on your 'Standard' character first (as long as it doesn't require uniques that are exclusive to the league, as they'll only trickle into standard slowly as hardcore builds rip). For example, when the 'Reaper gem' was initially released, I went over to my 90+ minion character in 'Standard' and slapped it on there and gave it a try with good gear. It underperformed and was lackluster, so I knew it 'wasn't for me' to use as a league starter. Does that make sense what I'm saying? I hope these tips I shared with you today help you to reconsider 'not trying' new and unfamiliar builds. Last edited by TheIronBankofBraavos#0146 on Nov 1, 2021, 12:28:53 AM

No it would have worked but it would have needed the levels and the gear. The thing is bite trough and get it the hard way in playing with a subpar level experience is worse then just starting with a yolo character and farm the currency the easy way.
I mean if you have the whole day to play the game it would not matter but when you only have a few hours on work days you better play as efficient as possible. |

Best league start i've ever had, lightnig traps build. Had 2 Exalted drop before i finished story, 2 more drop during maps. More then i've ever had. I just started red maps, cleared a t6 max scourged map no issues, and doing quite well and i'm more geared a week into league then i've been at the ends of many leagues.
The new tainted orbs let me easily 6l a shavs for like 25c Last edited by Brian9824#5074 on Nov 1, 2021, 4:18:30 PM

Actually having a great time with RF, though it's almost always more about the build I'm playing than the actual league mechanic. Harvest league, for example, was an exception.

the league with new changes is ok & fun but the scourge encounters are frantic & underwhelming. plus the drops for mere mortals at lvl 80-90 are few & far between. that makes it necessary to BUY items from other players and they all are looking to get rich. Path of Exile has become Path of Crafting. and every crafter wants to craft something for 30c and sell it for 2.5 ex and, when you do find a decent piece of gear at a reasonable price, it's already been sold to someone who only wants to flip it to make more currency. maybe the game should be named Path of Greed

Okay, so a little more cohesive impression from the perspective of just starting to wrap up acts, so not that far into it. I stopped playing near the end of whatever league Maven showed up in, Ritual? I missed Expedition and some other one or two leagues in there?
I am playing the closest thing to faceroll I think you can in this game, following a guide closely and running a skelemancer to do it. New good stuff: The masteries seem good, the stacked loot seems good, the couple expedition maps I've had were fun, although I don't really understand it too well yet besides trying to overlap explosives. The league itself seems okay? It seems like a lot more ambient than Harvest or Heist. The scourge mobs seem very over-tuned relative to the stuff around me outside, at least just in regular acts they do. I felt like heist had enough risk/reward balance to tolerate the occasional one-shot, especially before the patches where it happened a lot. Personally, I don't feel like getting one-shotted or 500-shotted or whatever is killing me in there just to get an item with some dubious mods. But, it is also easy to ignore. It hasn't been like heist though, where you could hop in and get some pretty good stuff right away, unless I am just unlucky? Still getting good loot in heist though. Getting a few c in a single run seems nice to me for not being in end-game yet. Alt-tabbing is now crashing the game nearly every time. I dunno why, I have super fast internet and it is just this game, I play other MMOs with no issue. Not a deal breaker, but annoying and it wasn't doing that in ritual *as much*. Seeing some familiar trolls on the forums, which makes me feel at home. We'll see what atlas looks like, so far it just seems like about the same bullet-hell as it was, with a couple meta changes and no real opportunity to end-game outside said meta, still mostly just dashing around and piano-rolling flasks and trying to out-dps flashy stuff. I was bummed to see that it looks like ED and BF/BB builds stopped being a thing. Apparently, still need a loot filter right meow. Currently, 6.5/10 for scourge. |

" Off topic a bit - try running Windowed Fullscreen instead of Fullscreen, this made my alt-tab issues go away. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
