An easy fix to the Standard League Market Inflation.
For a long time, veteran players have drastically hiked the prices of items on Standard League so that new players don't play there. They have made everything so expensive in trade values on the price checking apps by flooding the market with super high prices. This is backwards from what it should be, as there is so much material dumped into Standard League every time a challenge league ends, that the prices should be rock bottom.
High listing prices have broken the trading system, so no one wants to play there. The Solution. GGG should implement a market wipe for standard league every 60 days. If it hasn't sold in 60 days, it probably won't. Those veteran players that have no time to repost/price their items, will drop out of the market, leaving only active standard players and traders to set prices, which will end up being more fair. So say we all! The Chinese Servers tell you what kills you?? https://clips.twitch.tv/PerfectCoyNeanderthalResidentSleeper Last bumped on Oct 20, 2021, 9:28:47 PM

Your explanation doesn't make sense. It seems far more likely that prices are high in standard because veteran standard players have near-unlimited currency and don't care about small trades; if you've got literally thousands of exalts in your stash, why would you ever leave a map to make a trade for 10c or less? I mean, I've ignored 50c trade offers in challenge leagues because I had too much currency to care, I can't even imagine how meaningless those deals seem in standard.
Also, your reasoning of "all the league items get dumped into standard" is extremely flawed. The vast majority of league players just delete their standard characters and/or leave all of their gear in stash tabs to rot; there's absolutely no way even 1% of league drops are actually entering the standard economy. GGG putting their thumb on the scales won't change any of this, btw, but it seems unreasonable to expect them to do anything when solving this exact problem is one of the main reasons challenge leagues exist in the first place. |

i feel like it kind of works?
new players should be in new leagues. standard theres an entry barrier, if ppl cant deal with paying 5c for an item that would cost 1c or 1 alch in a league then they should probably just be in the league. standard is not a good environment for new players, not simply because of market prices but because so much game breaking stuff is in that league. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

That is mighty presumptuous of you OP to assume the intentions of those playing standard is to jack up prices so new players cannot play. Have you ever considered that maybe many standard players don't consider a 1c transaction worth their time? Chances are if you removed things from the market, the supply would be lower and the demand the same, people will charge even more!
That is even before considering how pretty much all items (and especially high value ones) tend to move much slower in standard. This is just intentionally making trade more tedious than it already is, which is the reason that standard players don't like to sell stuff for 1c. If you think items are not accessible enough for new players in standard, how about instead of asking for others to change their behavior, you start an initiative to help out new players with their basic needs? Be the change you wish to see. Last edited by SundialX#2121 on Oct 19, 2021, 11:38:37 PM

Makes no sense what you write
Nobody buys or sells in standard Low sell Low buy Edit: Demand is higher than the supply Prices can be whatever they want Why don't you start selling items for appropriate price in standard It just needs more active players using trade Need more brains, exile? TLDR let's wipe items on the permanent league
OP Have you even read what you have written? "War's over, soldier. You just don't know it yet. Everybody lost."

" That's what the 'dump league' (I think this was GGGs original term for standard) is FOR! Standard exists solely to have a place to dump the content of the temp leagues once they're done. The reason for that is so players don't complain endlessly to support that they lost their 'phat lewt'... You can play it, but it doesn't receive much dev attention beyond that. Balancing its economy is impossible. " Your argumentation is flawed as currency is ALSO dumped in standard after a league ends. Towards the end of a league, currency already start to lose its meaning because there is so much of it around. Standard is 1000x worse... I'm just a casual player, and this is what I have of the higher currencies in standard: Unavailable Plus this if I should want to craft a bit... Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

You cannot balance STD economy when there is leagues.
Most people are going in there, and putting crazy prizes on STD items, cause they don't care much or etc. If STD actually receive a decent amount of DEV time, it would be way better place, and the game would have way bigger player base, cause there is plenty of people that don't like to start all over, and their progress to go to the wind. And if there wasn't leagues, STD economy would be way better, cause there will be tons of more people in STD and economy would be completely different. Unless GGG decide to invest heavy time into STD and make it a good place, this is mission impossible. |
