Perhaps it was too foolish to think they'll actually nerf support bots.

" On one hand I'm totally on board with you cause god damn aura bots are amazing. But on the other hand it's kind of a play with your friends and solo kinda game so any nerf is just weird to me. I play mostly solo builds and play with 1-3 friends who never aura bot but if one of us did, good god.... I feel bad for people who are playing Aura Stackers to be honest. Those were really strong builds that required load of investment and a good few initial theory craft cycles to become perfected. Think how those people who play those builds feel, must be fucking awful honestly. I thought I would celebrate too, but then it actually happened and I just felt guilt for being happy and felt bad for people it affected. |

After much thought, reflection, reading and guesswork... I'm 100% more convinced that Duos will be making a huge splash this league. And about time! Duos are something many people do already and have very few resources to pull from except for strong solo builds.
Right now my Duo plan is to make a DOT lead (likely choas). And the build linking the lead will be a 2 aura, 2 curse culling strike MF build. And I couldn't be more pumped to theorycraft it once we have more details. I'm the Ps guy: Psomm, Pso, Psong, pso-on and pso-phorth.

" Consider that aurabots did nothing but hang around you. The link skills are active, and their nature means you're not really going to be optimized to properly make use of more than one or at most two of them. Also ask yourself why they bothered putting a duration on them. They could've just left them as permanent links (unless cancelled ofc). But they do time out, forcing you to cast them again - meaning you can't remain passive. And ofc they also carry a risk - if you're not a good enough support, it's not just your mates who die but you do too. That said, I think most people are going to find that the max distance on the link is going to make partying up with randos just as painful as it is in other multiplayer games. Half your party is going to wander out of range and break the links. The effectiveness of team skills is always dependent on the quality of the team itself. Empyrean and his group will make great use of them, but most ordinary players will quickly wind up cursing the people they try to play with. |

" I hope you're planning this duet with your gf or best friend, cos anyone else will just be an exercise in frustration. Hell even either of those will likely be quite frustrating. As a certain iconoclast once said, hell is other people... |

" I hear ya, however its SO much easier and smooth with duo than any pickups... ever. There's no comparison. Even 'organized' rotas are a pita I've passed on doing for years now, and I've done a shitton of pickups in my day albeit mainly on HC which actually required at least a bit of coordination. I went SC couple years ago as the endgame content got too crazy, the early lab was abysmal, and I decided I wanted some sanity. Running duo with the wife is just too easy frankly -- maybe even a friend or two depending on who plays as well. Makes it easier to complete the atlas and some other things too. I like where those changes are going. You can buff entire party with auras, but you can buff single person even more. I wonder if you can use several links on same person (was too lazy to do the research)

I only play solo

This is just aurabots with extra steps. Not a fan. And you have to keep casting them every 15 seconds or so to keep them up. I just hope a single person is limited to being 1 source and 1 sink of these link skills.
Imagine being in a pub rota of Uber Chayulas and you get kicked because the 85% flat attack damage reduction link you made with another member fell off for a second and they died.... |
