Communication and the Sacred Orb

A solution to a self-made problem

someone quote this shit.
We had that in Diablo2.
Although if I remember correctly, uniques were guaranteed to have MaxDefense+1.

I'm not sure about the utility of the orb (yet another empty slot in my special stash tab).
I dont like the huge rng value random defences bring with them for items that drop corrupted or via divination cards are corrupted by default. The outcomes of these items are almost always trash, but in the case u get realy lucky and find a good corrupted item it now not only misses 20% quality witch u can never get it also misses base defence, both facts make corrupted items aquired the way i said bevore useless.

Chris plays SSF or on internal resources. He doesn't play Trade League League Start, so he doesn't understand why this is a bad change.

Fairly sure the game is balanced based on non-trading anyway. Any trading is a bonus.

idk what gave you that idea. SSF is a CHALLENGE mode. the game is completely balanced around trading. They have stated this many many times. They will never balance the game around challenge modes such as hc and ssf.
So many people are missing the point. The new hidden quality gives another axis for an item to improve in value. It won't change value of items that have good mods. If you have a 0% hidden quality item that has all perfect rolls. The item's value is not diminished in the slightest. This goes for all levels of items. The quality of an item will never diminish the value of it because it is only a miniscule amount of defense you are losing out of. However, finding better quality versions of bases will provide extra value for those items. Basically the floor value of items hasn't changed, but the ceiling value has.

There is no problem. There was only a misunderstanding. It would have been a problem if they made the hidden quality something easily changed. It would have literally added nothing to the game.

And you're missing that they also removed item quality crafts, which effectively reduced an axis for an item to improve too. The two effectively cancels out, except one is actually crafted instead of rng, while the other doesn't use a mod slot. People prefer reliability.

That's not true. The axis for that item improvement was a suffix. The mod itself didn't represent a completely new axis for item improvement. Taking away a single benchcraft modifier is completely minor. You can still reliably benchcraft some other mod. The only thing that has changed is which mod you craft at the end.

Variable base defences makes me think there's going to be significantly more loot to filter, luckily you've added an option to not render filtered loot.

You can benchcraft some other mods, but in terms of maximizing defense values, there's no other option. There's a reason why they SPECIFICALLY mention top-end ES values when talking about this specific benchcraft.
