We know that but it will be easier to get block in general so you will end up with 93% / 75% block on the top end by skipping versitile combatant. By just having a shield you will end up with 75% block by taking lucky block without any further investment. Nice trade off if you ask me.

If he is unable block spells(or at way lower rate) he's pretty much useless.

Getting 75 block off tree is going to be a chore even with a small buff to nodes. Sure you can maybe get 15% off shield if you lose a suffix but Tempest Shield is now 25% reservation and rumi nerfed again.

Just seeing more points taken from dmg nodes imo.

Net -15 to -19 Max spell and attack block of you take versatile combatant
-25 from Versatile Combatant on tree
+10 from Versatile Combatant replacement in ascendancy
-4 from Violent Retaliation

Also Violent Retaliation loses block chance on hit.


If you don't take the new Versatile Combatant, +10 to max block, sure, but no spell block.

Maaaaaybe suppression will counter that, but where are the nodes for that?

Overall a pretty severe nerf I think.

Definitely a nerf but not sure how severe it is inreality. 60% attack/spell block but with better defenses from armour etc, and a decent damage buff for glad.
