What if Divine Orbs didn't exist in the game?

One of the reasons why even expensive uniques become trash in a week is because even if they do initially pay out a few dozen chaos, they become irrelevant because divines and divine equivalents exist.

Right now if the item is above 15C but has bad rolls, it's already a candidate for a reroll, saturating the market with higher rolls very fast.

It would get the developers old school Diablo boners up with the rare loot having extreme value if perfect or almost perfect.

A perfect Replica Farrul's Fur actually might be worth a mirror or just plain max health roll have 2x the low roll price.

It would give additional bonering because then the game would be automatically at least a little bit longer and harder as the gear is harder to min-max.

Divines could potentially be removed in the hard mode as a test or made 10x rarer than right now + removing the vendor recipe.

but how do we like get our legacy items changed to the newer version without em :O

but agreed should be removed in hard mode for sure.

And I'm pretty sure it is not hard to implement at all.

They could also give items much larger ranges and more variable mods. But removing divines would work as well.

Legacy currency in standard just continues to increase in value. I wonder how high divines would get.

I also think the game raining 6-Links hasn't helped either. I think Divines are more rare than Exalts as natural drops.

I also think that this would have been a healthier way to address power creep as 15C for a 6L with some life and res on the second day of the league is a bit cheap.

Divines have the same drop rate as Exalted Orbs.

Well, when you can triple Nemesis Glennach Cairns with all the Beyond notables taken + 1% chance to spawn a beyond demon on 4 craftable watchstones (just saying) and their higher rates of dropping items corrupted/6L, not even taking into account you can put on Nemesis Sextant with 4 uses on them and like 3 other corrupting sextant mods...the mechanic of generating so many divines is the devs making. Limiting the ways to abuse such league mechanics would be a sure-handed start and safer option one might think instead of getting rid of them altogether and putting the remaining player base into yet another session of poker to the eyeball shock therapy bc they think we zoom zoom too much in this game as is...

I've also thought this for awhile, especially when I started up D2 again a couple months ago.

Divine orbs ruin any sort of min or max rolls for a rare unique. Removing divine orbs would mean that you actually care about the rolls, and would make even the more common uniques more fun to find, as a perfect or near perfect roll would mean something.

It would ALSO mean you can't just craft your perfect item and then divine it until perfect rolls. Would greatly increase the worth of well rolled mods as you craft.

I'm completely for removal of divines personally.
Not all play trade league, so divine orbs are needed.

Even without them you would be able to buy your way through the game fast in trade league.
