Actually the:

7% throw speed
38% crit chance
35% CDR rate
3 masteries (6.66% more damage, 50% skitterbot efficiency, 5 additional traps on ground)

are gains not losses.

They are not nerfs for especially seismic trap(cdr).

Here's my horrible first attempt, 87/121 points with a large thread of hope, having never played this build before. What can we improve from here?

I tried to take elusive (assuming we can get it on boots) and some spell suppression. I made it intending to take double cluster jewels and glorious vanity -> divine flesh (with more chaos resist on items of course) later on.

I took most the mastery options I could, but I suspect a couple of them aren't worth it. The items etc are from Balor's build of this rather than OP's, and obviously some of it is pretty wrong now.

Edit: Thread of Hope likely to be expensive this league I think.

Edit edit: Ghost dance is nice. Perhaps it's worth trying to get spell suppression to 75%, then using those two as our new defensive options. No point having more than that, particularly with a couple thousand evasion (and perhaps 1k ES?) for ghost dance.

Evade Chance 68%
Phys. Dmg Reduction 12%
Block Chance 15%
Spell Suppression Chance 100%, 55% Spell Dmg suppressed

So far seems tanky enough and damage should still be quite good.
Thoughts?
