Migrating characters from HC temp league to SC temp leagues.

this is not a rant or a complaint. I'm just wondering what the reason is that theres no option to migrate HC temp league characters into the SC version of the temp league. Thank you for your replies to feed my curiosity.

Yea I don't see the problem either.

Economy mostly. You can get a lot of things cheaper on HC, like exalts for example.

When leagues started there used to be different MTX rewards for the challenges, and that's also when League HC --> Standard SC on death.

I can't recall if it was said at the time but I guess it could have been so you couldn't use one character to collect both sets of MTX rewards by starting in HC and clearing them there,. you'd have to start a separate character for SC.

if they interacted it'd influence them and I suspect they wanted to avoid that so didn't have one feed into the other. Players would start in HC by default and just have it translate over after (this might actually be good for HC trade tbh)

There have been leagues for example where badge of the brotherhood was 20ex in SC and 1 in HC and that enormous difference in value doesn't even include than an exalts usually twice as expensive on SC or more even.

Things like that would cause players to play on HC just to translate it to profit on SC which is against GGG's stance about not giving players any reason to choose one league over another aside from base mechanics. I believe this is the same reason why alternate coloured MTX rewards were dropped for HC as well.

Personally i'm not entirely convinced it would matter, the alternate colour rewards I certainly think should have always been a thing and the feeding one league into another would just let me get some extra playtime when HC trade dies inevitably after 2 weeks. I understand their stance though.

SSF is self imposed hendicap, nothing more.

The point here is:


There is no reason not to convert hcssf-league to scssf-league, when you die. Then at least you can continue with the league mechanic.

No becaue you can migrate from SSF to normal league with few clicks. SSF is just a checkbox, nothing else.

Yeah the economy aspect makes sense. Tho i dont personally think there is much of a difference in most of the items anymore between HC and SC respectively.
