They really don't have to do that, hell, they could juice the game like that last gauntlet league and it still wouldn't be unplayble. It's just that people got too used to the game putting up next to no resistance until you hit juiced T16 maps and hardest bosses.

I'm looking at D2R right now, and hell if that game isn't resisting more than poe did for the past few patches.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Aye could paint those numbers bad if you want, but, it's a transitional league where they had to try some things that players wouldn't like, but retain the same bloated, stale endgame, it would be hard to do good. Also, it's a summer league, enough for people to hear that the patch is no good and they'll go do something else, look at harvest, it was an easy league and the retention is almost as bad.

The game was harder before, and there's enough room to go harder again without making it unreasonable, but the changes have to make sense.
