Constant latency spikes
" that answer you should already know by now....... However you are not helping @OP. Sadly there is many people that have problem with PoE because of their ISP or home network setup. Why shouldn't we try to help these poeple as best as possible ?? |

been getting same latency spikes since I started playing this league last week, no matter the NA gateway. tried a couple VPNs but did not help. Xfinity is my ISP.
for some reason my most recent WinMTR report on an instance that was extremely laggy looks like this. usually my WinMTR reports show 1-3% packet loss throughout every node except for the first for instances that I experienced latency spikes in. ![]() latency spikes for that same instance prior to running the test: ![]() |

For some folks this may help, and is worth a try depending on your equipment (I am using a Ubiquity Amplifi HD/Hive System w/ admin settings via mobile app) and knowledge of routers.
TLDR ==> Try switching router settings from IPv4 to IPv6. Newer routers and hive systems can easily change settings via mobile app or web browser and it is easily switched back if it doesn't help. I noticed in some of the WinMTR posts some of you are using IPv4 routing. You may want to try switching your router to IPv6 if it is possible. I was getting some really bad lag spikes with Comcast/Xfinity. I believe this was back since Harvest league when there were all types of problems with patches and lag. Could have been Heist too though. I came across a post in PoE technical forums of someone that tried IPv6 and I figured why not give it a try since I tried reinstalling the game, rollingback GPU drivers (Yes, I know its graphics related), installing older Ethernet/Wireless drivers, verifying files, etc. It worked for me. I still get lag and have traced it down to PoE via PoE game logs and pinging the node indicated in the logs, but if it isn't PoE my lag is fixed via a quick reboot of the hive router or the main Comcast router. Comcast/Xfinity and other internet service providers now support IPv6. I have seen posts from PoE support where they state their Nodes work off of IPv4, but for some--the routing/name resolution could be more efficient to GGG's servers via IPv6. If you are on Comcast/Xfinity you can google "IPv6 Test Comcast" to check your connection and it will show what you are currently running. You can also google "IPv6" test and there are other sites that will test your connection via the web for other ISP's. As stated earlier it could be really easy for you to switch and try as newer router/hive systems let you change settings via mobile app or by browser. If not, then it can be more time consuming as you will need to see if you can change your router settings with admin capabilities. Those who are renting/leasing equipment, the provider may lock or not allow you to change settings, and/or the router is too old to switch from IPv4 to IPv6. |
