The Path of Exile subreddit has become an unbearable cesspool of negativity.

In the past the PoE subreddit was a good place for GGG to get constructive feedback, and it often still is. I've seen many negative posts that gave good constructive feedback. Such criticism however is now being overshadowed by a group of extremely active posters who spend all day bashing on anyone who dares to say something positive about the game. These people obviously have some sort of personal grudge against GGG and are only interested in maintaining a negative atmosphere as a way to get back at GGG for nerfing the game. These are the same types of people who go to places like Steam to review bomb the game just because GGG nerfed their playstyle.

It is so obvious at this point that anything negative (including blatant lies) get upvoted just for the sake of "getting back at GGG". Even streamers like Alkaizer and RaizQT started pointing out the blatant lies, yet they got a lot of flak for it. I've seen people lying about damage immunities (a GGG dev actually came in to correct that guy), I saw a heavily upvoted post of a guy complaining that he was still around level 75 Delve while doing red maps (I've played to 98+ on countless SSF leagues, what he said is a blatant lie). People lied about that mistake in the patch notes which "proved" that GGG doesn't test their changes (Chris Wilson had to come in to clarify that it was a typo by the person who wrote the notes). Unfunny forced memes with out of context quotes from Chris Wilson (the "it's too rewarding" thing, among others). One guy got upvoted for saying that he could no longer do the first Conquerors or Yellow maps because he just gets one-shot every time. It's so obvious that these people are just terrible at the game and barely even play it. This is basically cookie-cutter content. Today I saw another post upvoted of someone saying 80% of the player base has already left. There's also this strange obsession with Steam Charts and player figures, as if PoE is some sort of casual mobile Candy Crush game or Fortnite. It's almost every day now that some guy posts about Steam charts. They spend more time looking over these charts than they do progressing through the Atlas.

I've been playing PoE for 8 years on Hardcore, Softcore and SSF leagues (this is my 4-tab-only SSF meme challenge account - long story). Done everything from racing during the Kripp days to SSFHC Gauntlet leagues. So far I've played Expedition SSF for over one hundred hours, and the game really didn't feel all that different. It's just another patch with another meta shift and some reworked mechanics. We've been through this countless times before.

As I said earlier there is still a lot of good constructive (negative) feedback that people are giving, and these people should not be ignored just because a vocal group of people on Reddit are hell-bent on seeing this game fail. I'm not saying you're bad just for disliking the new patches. I hope GGG can maneuver their way around all the nonsense and focus on the legitimate criticism only, don't give in to the angry whiners who only want to see the game burn at this point.

I think they should create a separate subreddit/forums for grievances & complaints. Even on these forums its mostly people venting & "i quit" posts, very often actual feedback about the current league & patch gets lost in the sea of negative threads.

Can't say I'm surprised either, people are much more likely to read & comment on those posts and thus they stay in the limelight.
Yeah, im genuinely curious whats up with the lack of moderation over there. Its still GGG's but i dont see anything being removed, like ever. Many posts on the front page that i viewed over the course of last league and this league have clearly gone against the subreddit rules (some even reddits general rules) and were never addressed by moderators.

Not going to lie but it seems like the reddits been abandoned by its own moderators who dont want to deal with that cesspool, so theyre just letting it fester even more.

I unsubbed from the subreddit, i cant stand to look at it anymore. Unless my friends link me something to laugh at that comes from there, im not interacting with it.

Like ive seen posts blatantly lying about things or misleading people, or being used to attack peoples character by cutting all context of certain things and it just stays up. Its soo weird to me because 4 years ago, it was the complete opposite of what it is right now.

The subreddit isn't GGG's
The state of reddit simply reflects the state of the game.

to put it bluntly patch is 3.15 is [Removed by Support] with small exception of league mechanic actualy beeing fun and decently designed.

Not sure about that.

Pretty sure its GGG's but theyre entirely hands off. Chris is the one who made it and as far as i can tell, has total moderation control as the admin for the subreddit.

Also all the subreddit rules are virtually copied from the forums rules with the addition of some others i believe. If i remember correctly its owned by GGG but theyre hands off and let the community lead it and gave certain individuals they trust moderator status. Feel free to correct me if im wrong.

I mean you can name and shame people on the subreddit which is a really significant decision. It's clear GGG isn't writing the rules.

Anyway the subreddit doesn't seem any more toxic than here or the average reddit. It's just people honestly reacting to the state of the game that they love. Calling it a cesspool of negativity really is just trying to deny that it's honest relevant conversation.

this, and also why can't people have feedback?
OP have you read this forum lately?
It's filled with people quitting, have you seen twitter/facebook comments?
It's the same so I don't think it's specific on reddit.
For years you had "dumb extreme" fanboys downvoting anything constructive that was considered as a negative review.

It's impossible to condemn what happened to Reddit POE sub. This is how it works, always worked like that, it's "fair". It will go away anyway.

Dude do you understand what feedback is? There has to be an actionable/constructive component to it, otherwise its just complaining & venting, sometimes thinly veiled threats.

"Revert the game to 3.13", "game is ruined", "i quit", "you won't get a single $ from me until you fix x/y/z" these things are hardly feedback.
