Heist out of balance - Monsters too strong

So you just can't accept the fact, that the global nerf makes heist unplayable for low level chars, I get the point. Are you in anyway related to GGG that you defend them so much?

No, you are wrong. You are choosing to ignore skill gems that would allow you to do the content. That is your choice. Accept the consequences of that.

And again, I can do all content just fine that is below or same as my level - expedition, delve, etc-, but heist not. That I call out of balance

No. Heist requires different tactics. You must adjust your play-style. You just can't plow through it unless you out-level or out-gear it. If you take the time to grab some crowd control skills, you can control the enemy packs and avoid fighting them.

The flaw of globally nerfing everything player side and not adjusting anything else.

I was doing Heist fine. Slow, but no danger. Recently came into from cash. In the middle of upgrading my gear appropriately. Of course first thing I grab is a 480 DPS Foil.

I do a lvl 80 Contact, first rare I see has "Substantial increases Damage of self and allies", I Leap Slam Fortify, Enduring Cry for 4 Charges. Die in 1.5 seconds. First pack from zoning in.

I was baffled. Only the 2nd time this character has died and I didn't even get to swing. For context: Slayer, 4.7k HP, 51% Physical DR, 27% Evade 76%Max Res, could be better... Immune to Stun, Reflect, Almost immune to all Elemental Ailments. Leech 30% of my HP per second.

I admit, I didn't look at the mods... Because I'm a Slayer but damn, no alarm, rare pack?
Yeah monsters in heist hit hella hard. Im a max block gladiator, ive got 3 endurance charges, fortify + effect, Immortal Call on self cast with a 4 second duration, 13k armour, 3k evasion, and then the flask that gives 20% more armour and i take massive hits still.

Though the thing i noticed more than the hits was actually the lack of damage you do. Impale + tree used to give 45% total physical overwhelm for most builds. Now it only gives 35%. Heist monsters already have super high armour values and higher than normal block than most monsters in the game.

Definitely needs to be looked at after the nerfs to our multipliers and other things like physical overwhelm.

Im using a Bronn Lithes for damage because its probably the best damage chest piece for cyclone and its also my only 6L i own that isnt crap in the league right now, but im considering going as far as going into the perfect form and AA.

Ive found that higher tier map monsters hit way harder, heist has stayed around the same since i think the majority of their abilities are entirely unique. Big reason other damage went up is because monsters that use skills got buffed when our gems base numbers got buffed.
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

^ Correct. The base skill buffs propagated to the critters. Makes things far more interesting, that's for certain. ^_^

Again, I am not talking about chars with high lvl gear or the opportunity to fit all the gems, I am talking about lvl55 heist contracts. At lvl55 chars with lvl 66 should be able to do it. Point.

I am not talking about high level characters either. Get some crowd control, or accept that you'll have to out-level or out-gear the content to do it.

Point.

Well you know what you are writing for sure. At first, this is my feedback on heist, I didn't ask for any advice. Secondly what you write here is just a contradiction, when I am lvl66 I *should outlevel* a lvl55 heist, shouldn't I? Or what level would you see as out-level for that, maybe 90 or 100? And it is making things not far more interesting, it makes things just unplayable if you need now a different build for heist. Heist has always been RNG. Do 5 yawning then you get 1 that just feels absolutely insane, then back to skipping through.

I did a level 72 quest one the other day and was literally stuck in a corner for 3-4 full minutes. I kill stuff more than fast enough, but they were literally streaming instantly and endlessly through 2 doorways, I quite literally couldn't move. At one point there were 3 of 4 'boss' uniques in the one room.

In the end, I just gave up caring and dashed through paying I didn't hit a bomb.

The next one had 1 door with a pack behind it and a small group at the exit... that's it!

I am free to comment and offer helpful suggestions. And I am also pointing out there are ways to cope with you issue already in place within the game. If there are ways to deal with the issue... is it really an issue?

The degree you will need to out-level and out-gear is dependent on many variables:

Is your gear good for your level? Or is it crap? If your skill-tree a disaster-zone of bad choices or is efficient? What skill gems are you using - some are better than others. But my general statement stands.

You may not think so. I disagree, and find it quite exciting.

Throwing on a few alternate skill gems is not a "different build."

No. This is a community forum, and I will post and comment as I wish.

No. I will do no such thing.

That's critically low on the hit points, DR, Evade, especially for a level 80 heist. Without at least 7k hit points, you don't have enough padding on a melee to handle the damage spikes. You also need to layer dodge or block on top of your evasion. Evade decays over repeated hits, so you need a secondary form of defense.

Another thing people are not used to - the slower life recovery is actually a really dangerous map/contract mod now. Pre-patch is was just free quantity. Post-patch, it impacts your leech, your regen and your potion recovery in very dangerous ways. I recommend a blood of the Karui or a good Panicked Divine Flask.

Oh I know. I've been playing fairly casually. Slayer is still my first char and still lvl 85.

I was just stomping everything else including the map I got the contract from so it was jarring.

I generally build rounded characters though this league has made that more difficult. The lvl 93 PoB parse is 80% DR, still 27% Evade, 78% Max Res, 30% Less taken from Fortify + Infused Channeling, 38% Atk Block, 182% to Life which should be about 6k HP. I doubt I'll be able to get more than 15% Dodge/Spell Dodge or so though.

Only showing about 900k Shaper DPS with some spoofed gems and current weapon on Blade Flurry though which is kinda disturbing. I had a Double Strike Zerker pulling 22mil in Heist.
